An improved dry grind system and method for producing a sugar stream from grains or similar carbohydrate sources and/or residues, such as for biochemical production, with front end oil separation. Prior to or after saccharification, oil can be removed from a sugar/carbohydrate stream. After saccharification and prior to a sugar conversion process, the sugar/carbohydrate stream includes a desired Dextrose Equivalent (DE) where DE describes the degree of conversion of starch to dextrose can be produced, with such sugar stream being available for biochemical production, e.g., alcohol production, or other processes. In addition, the systems and methods also can involve the removal of certain grain components, e.g., corn kernel components, including protein and/or fiber. In other words, oil separation and sugar stream production occurs on the front end of the system and method.

INTEGRATED FILTER MATERIAL AND PREPARATION METHOD AND APPLICATION THEREOF

An integrated filter material, a preparation method and an application. The filter material is composed of a commercial dust removal filter material and a catalyst that is grown on the filter material and that has a function of simultaneously decomposing nitrogen oxides and dioxins. A device for processing waste is described herein that comprises an ion generator, a furnace chamber, a heat exchanger, a pollution control system, and a chimney. The ion generator converts atmospheric air into an ionized gas and the furnace chamber thermally decays the waste by combining the waste with a product of an interaction of the ionized gas and heat generated by the furnace chamber. The heat exchanger cools the excess gas. A wet scrubber system removes heavy metals and/or acid gases from the cooled excess gas to generate scrubbed excess gas, and a fixed bed coke system detoxifies the scrubbed excess gas by converting carbon monoxide, water, and steam in the scrubbed excess gas to carbon dioxide and hydrogen, and removing remaining acid gas, a remaining heavy metal, and/or a remaining dioxin from the scrubbed excess gas. The chimney transfers remaining scrubbed excess gas out of the device.

Method and system for treating emissions using a transient pulsed plasma

A method and system to treat emissions (e.g., smoke, particulate, odor, grease) employs a nanosecond high voltage pulse generator, a transient pulsed plasma reactor, and a DC voltage source that supplies a DC bias voltage, preferably a negative DC bias voltage to a conductor of the transient pulsed plasma reactor. The system is used in a scheme that substantially reduces at least particulate matter in emissions streams, for example emissions streams produced during cooking, for instance in commercial charbroiling processes (e.g., cooking of hamburger meat), or from operation of internal combustion engines. Both a reduction in the size distribution and total particulate mass is achieved using the method and system described herein.
