Spiral wound membrane element and method for cleaning spiral wound membrane sheet
A spiral wound membrane element and a method for cleaning a spiral wound membrane sheet are provided. The spiral wound membrane element comprising a perforated central tube; one or more membrane sleeves, each sleeve comprising two membrane sheets enclosed at two edges around a feed spacer sheet and wrapped around the central tube; a permeate carrier sheet attached to the central tube at a first edge opposite a second edge; and a seal on third and fourth edges of the permeate carrier sheet. The method comprises introducing two solution with different solute concentration to two sides of the spiral wound membrane sheet; establishing a concentration gradient between the first and second sides; communicating a first solvent from the first side to the second side to remove a foulant located on the second side of the membrane sheet; and collecting a waste stream that contains the foulant.
Method And System For Internal Permeate Processing In Reverse Osmosis Membranes
A reverse osmosis system includes a multi-element membrane array having a plurality of membrane elements disposed in series and a plurality of permeate pipes receiving permeate from a respective one of the plurality of membrane elements. Each of the plurality of elements has an inlet and an outlet. A plurality of connectors coupling successive permeate pipes together. Each of the plurality of connectors includes one of a plurality of flow restrictors. Each of the plurality of flow restrictors is sized to further restrict permeate flow into a subsequent permeate pipe of the plurality of permeate pipes.
HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE MODULE
A hollow fiber membrane module 10 includes: a plurality of hollow fiber membranes 200; a case 100 that accommodates the plurality of hollow fiber membranes 200 and has a case main body 110 made of a resin and having openings at both ends thereof; and a pair of sealing and fixing portions 310 and 320 that seal a gap between the hollow fiber membranes in a state where a hollow inside of each of the hollow fiber membranes 200 is kept open and fix the plurality of hollow fiber membranes 200 to the case 100 on both end sides of the case 100. In the case main body 110, a reinforcement portion 115 that connects a pair of facing wall surfaces of inner wall surfaces for accommodating the plurality of hollow fiber membranes 200 is integrally provided on the pair of wall surfaces.
STACK PLATE, STACK PLATE DEVICE AND HUMIDIFIER
A stack plate of a stack plate device of a humidifier includes inlay parts extending along two opposing front or longitudinal ends of the stack plate, a semipermeable layer disposed on and being stabilized by the inlay parts, and a frame disposed on multiple portions of the semipermeable layer that are disposed on the inlay parts, the frame circumferentially enclosing a through-opening in the stack plate. A remaining portion of the semipermeable layer completely covers the through-opening. An outer circumferential section of the semipermeable layer and the inlay parts are overmolded by the frame. Opposing front ends of the frame define inflow and outflow regions, respectively, on a first side of the frame for a second fluid, and opposing longitudinal ends of the frame define inflow and outflow regions, respectively, on a second side of the frame for a first fluid.
HUMIDIFIER
A humidifier having a housing that extends along an axial direction, the housing having a first inlet, a first outlet, a second inlet and a second outlet, and a membrane unit being arranged in the interior of the housing. The first inlet and the first outlet are in flow connection with each other by means of a first flow path, and the second inlet and the second outlet are in flow connection with each other by a second flow path. The membrane unit is cylindrical and has a plurality of hollow fiber membranes arranged side by side. The membrane unit is outwardly surrounded at least in part by a first chamber, and the first chamber is outwardly surrounded at least in part by a second chamber separate from the first chamber. The first chamber and the second chamber are in flow connection with each other via one or more throttle slots.
Extendable pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module and filtration apparatus manufactured using the same
Disclosed are an extendable pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module which facilitates improvement of filtrate quality through a multistep-filtration, enhanced easiness of installation and maintenance, decrease of footprint, and/or enlargement of filtration apparatus (without causing decrease of permeate flux of a unit hollow fiber membrane), and a filtration apparatus manufactured using the same. The filtration apparatus of the present invention comprises first and second pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane modules, wherein an inlet port of the first pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module for introducing feed water and an outlet port of the second pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module for discharging filtrate or air are coupled to each other.
BLOOD PROCESSING UNIT WITH MODIFIED FLOW PATH
A blood processing apparatus may include a heat exchanger and a gas exchanger. At least one of the heat exchanger and the gas exchanger may be configured to impart a radial component to blow flow through the heat exchanger and/or gas exchanger. The heat exchanger may be configured to cause blood flow to follow a spiral flow path.
HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE MODULE
Disclosed herein is a hollow fiber membrane module provided with a hollow fiber membrane bundle, a case in which the hollow fiber membrane bundle is contained, a fixation part which affixes the hollow fiber membrane bundle within the case and divides the space inside the case into a first space that is outside the hollow fiber membranes and a second space that is in communication with the insides of the hollow fiber membranes, and a partition plate which divides the first space into a first region and a second region.
HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE MODULE
A hollow fiber membrane module includes a housing having an inlet formed one end thereof and an outlet formed on the other end thereof, in which hot and humid humidifying fluid flows in through the inlet and the humidifying fluid after humidifying a cool and dry fluid flowing out of the housing through the outlet; at least one hollow fiber membrane bundle which is inserted into the housing in the longitudinal direction; a partitioning part for supporting the hollow fiber membrane bundle and partitioning an inflow space, in which the humidifying fluid flowing into the housing momentarily remains, and an outflow space, in which the humidifying fluid momentarily remains before being discharged through the outlet; and a potting part for potting both ends of the hollow fiber membrane bundle to the housing.
