Apparatus and Method for Generating Nitric Oxide in Controlled and Accurate Amounts
A nitric oxide generator generates nitric oxide from a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen such as air treated by a pulsating electrical discharge. The desired concentration of nitric oxide is obtained by controlling at least one of a frequency of the pulsating electrical discharge and duration of each electrical discharge pulse.
METAL ORGANIC RESINS WITH ZIRCONIUM NODES
Metal organic resins, composite materials composed of the metal organic resins, and anion exchange columns packed with the composite materials are provided. Also provided are methods of using the composite materials to remove metal anions from a sample, methods of using the metal organic resins as fluorescence sensors for detecting metal anions in a sample, and methods of making the metal organic resins and the composite materials. The metal organic resins are amine-functionalized metal organic frameworks and their associated counter anions. The composite materials are composed of metal organic resin particles coated with organic polymers, such as alginic acid polymers.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ADSORPTION AGENT FOR TREATING COMPRESSED GAS AND AN ADSORPTION DEVICE PROVIDED WITH SUCH AN ADSORPTION AGENT
A method for manufacturing an adsorption agent for treating compressed gas, which includes the steps of providing a monolithic supporting structure; producing a coating suspension that includes an adsorbent; applying the coating suspension on the supporting structure to form a coating; applying a thermal treatment to the coated supporting structure in order to sinter the coating.
PROCESS FOR PREPARING METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS HAVING IMPROVED WATER STABILITY
This invention relates to a continuous process for the preparation of a metal-organic framework comprising a hydrophobic compound. The process comprises the steps of: (a) providing a first component comprising either (i) a metal-organic framework, or (ii) a first reactant which includes at least one metal in ionic form and a second reactant which includes at least one ligand capable of associating with the metal in ionic form in order to form a metal-organic framework, (b) providing a hydrophobic compound, and (c) mixing the first component and the hydrophobic compound in order to form the metal-organic framework comprising the hydrophobic compound. The invention also relates to the use of a hydrophobic polymer, a silane compound and/or a siloxane compound to improve the water stability of a metal-organic framework.
Use of Type V adsorbent and gas concentration for gas adsorption and capture
Systems and methods for concentration of a sorbate in a feedstream and subsequent adsorption utilizing a Type V adsorbent are provided.
Air bubble removal from extracorporeal blood via chemical entrapment of nitrogen
A process includes removing air bubbles from extracorporeal blood via chemical entrapment of nitrogen (N.sub.2) gas.
Multivariate and other metal-organic frameworks, and uses thereof
Compositions comprising multivariate metal-organic frameworks and other single-linker metal-organic frameworks are used for containing and storing a gas or fluid or for water harvesting or water purification applications.
