Sheet steel having a deterministic surface structure

The invention relates to a steel sheet skin-pass rolled with a deterministic surface structure, and to a method for producing it.

Method and device for producing an internally and externally toothed pot-shaped sheet metal part using a forming head

A method for producing an internally and/or externally toothed pot-shaped sheet metal part having teeth extending toward the pot center axis, wherein an un-toothed pot-shaped sheet metal part is inserted into a die and then, by means of a relative movement between the sheet metal part and associated profile rollers, a profile is rolled onto the pot-shaped sheet metal part by the profile rollers applied to the sheet metal part and thus alternating internal and external gear teeth are applied to the sheet metal part, wherein the profile rollers form the sheet metal part oriented radially from the inside toward the outside, in that the profile rollers roll along the inner circumference of the sheet metal part.

This application discloses methods of preparing a work roll for applying a dulled gloss finish on a metal substrate surface. The resulting finish has a fairly uniform glossiness with a slightly matted appearance and with minimal directionality. The work rolls have an Ra value of from 0.2 to 0.4 m and an Rz value of less than 3.0 m. Methods of forming a dulled gloss finish on a metal substrate are also described herein.

METHOD FOR OPTIMISING THE ROUGHNESS OF A ROLLING MILL ROLL BY MEANS OF HIGH-SPEED THERMAL SPRAYING
20240401182 · 2024-12-05 ·

The invention relates to a method for coating a mill roll by means of thermal spraying of a powder by means of a spraying column to form an isotropic roughness (Ra) on the surface of said mill roll, wherein the mill roll rotates at a speed (Vr) about the longitudinal axis thereof and the spraying column moves translationally at a speed (Vt), depositing the material in a helicoidal way. After establishing a granulometry (G) of powder to be sprayed, an objective roughness (Ra) and an objective thickness (t) of the coating, the corresponding feed flow (Fr) of powder is determined in an empirical table which shows the objective roughness (Ra) on the basis of the feed flow (Fr) and the granulometry (G) according to a pre-established formula, after which the rotational speed (Vr) and the translational speed (Vt) are defined from an equation that relates the objective coating thickness (t) as a function of the defined feed flow (Fr), the translational speed (Vt) and the rotational speed (Vr).
