Cutting insert and indexable drill

The present disclosure relates to a cutting insert and an indexable drill. The cutting insert and the indexable drill according to the present disclosure are configured such that when the cutting insert is mounted on the indexable drill, the cutting insert is easily inserted into the indexable drill at the initial time, and strong coupling force is implemented between the indexable drill and the cutting insert at a point of time at which the cutting insert is completely mounted. In addition, the cutting insert, according to the present disclosure, has excellent rigidity, when compared to cutting inserts in the related art that perform identical/similar cutting processing, since a portion, which is weak in rigidity, is provided as a thick portion.

Assembly-type cutter

An assembly-type cutter includes a shank and a cutter head. The shank has a hole at one end. The hole has a receiving portion, which includes an internal thread and can be treated thermally for increased rigidity. The cutter head has a cutting portion and a connecting portion at opposite ends respectively. The connecting portion includes a threaded member and can also be treated thermally for increased rigidity. The cutter head and the shank are threadedly connectable via the connecting portion and the receiving portion. The threaded member includes a body portion, whose diameter is defined as a root diameter, and an external thread on the body portion. The body portion is slightly tapered such that a locus of the root diameter is inclined.

FRONT-LOADED, SIDE-ACTIVATED MODULAR DRILL
20180281084 · 2018-10-04 ·

A front-loaded, side-activated modular drill includes a shank and a replaceable cutting insert installed on and engaging the tool shank. The shank has a pocket for supporting the cutting insert when the cutting insert is installed within the pocket. The pocket includes a first centering wall having an aperture with internal threads formed with a first pitch and a second centering wall having an aperture with a first portion with internal threads formed with a second, different pitch. A first member is threaded into the aperture of the first centering wall, and a second member is threaded into the second centering wall. The first member is threaded into the second member. The cutting insert has an opening in a trailing end for allowing the first member to pass therethrough. Rotation of the first member causes the centering walls to elastically deform and move relative to each other.

Drill tip and drilling tool having a drill tip

The invention relates to a drill tip (2) comprising a base body (6) having chip flutes (22A,B) and extending in the axial direction along an axis of rotation (8) and having at least two main cutting edges (14A,B) on the front face thereof extending outward in the radial direction to a cutting corner (16A,B). Seen in cross section, the base body is asymmetric relative to rotation about the axis of rotation (8) at the height of the cutting corner (16A,B). The cross section of the base body is simultaneously designed having symmetrical spacing from the main cutting edges (14A,B). The drill tip (2) is in particular designed as an interchangeable modular part of a modularly designed drill tip (5). A drill base body (4) in which the drill tip (2) can be inserted can therefore in turn be designed symmetrically.

A cutting portion, which is rotatable in a direction of rotation about an axis of rotation, is disclosed. The cutting portion has an annular portion, one or more cutting elements which are disposed on a first end of the annular portion, and an insertion element which is disposed on the annular portion at an end that is remote from the cutting elements. The insertion element has at least one slit-shaped clearance with a cross-slit and a connecting slit, where the cross-slit is arranged perpendicularly in relation to the axis of rotation and is connected by way of the connecting slit to an upper edge of the insertion element.

Self-locking head-replaceable carbide drill

A self-locking head-replaceable carbide drill, comprising a cutter head disposed at the upper end of a cutter shank. A cylinder is disposed at the lower part of the cutter head, a vertical cylinder holding slot or cylinder handle holding hole is disposed at the upper end of the cutter bar, at least two cutter head notches are disposed on the drilling body of the cutter head, and each cutter head notch is formed by intersecting a first and a second cutter head contact face. At least two upward protrusions disposed on the wall of the upper end of the cutter bar and have the same number as the cutter head notches. When assembling the cutter head and the cutter shank, the cutter head ridge edges and the inner surfaces of the protrusions are in non-contact fit, interference fit and non-interference fit in sequence.

ROTARY TOOL

The rotary tool has two coupling parts, namely a carrier and a cutting head having a front end face. The carrier has a pin seat into which a coupling pin of the cutting head is inserted. Effective stop faces are formed on the pin seat and on the coupling pin in the axial direction for axial pull-out protection. For a design that is as simple as possible, in particular in terms of grinding, a side face adjoins a respective stop face of the coupling pin and, when viewed in the axial direction, freely extends to the end face. In particular, the side face forms a torque face. For reliable clamping attachment, in particular with larger nominal diameters (D), a separating slot is made in the carrier and a clamping screw is inserted into it, both of which serve to fix the cutting head in the pin seat.

Cutting head, rotary tool and support for the rotary tool and for the accommodation of the cutting head

A cutting head is formed for insertion into a support in a modular rotary tool, in particular a drill. The coupling head has a coupling having torque surfaces and clamping surfaces on its outer periphery. The coupling pin is divided into a front pin part and a rear pin part. The front pin part is defined by a circumferential groove. Stop surfaces for an axial pullout safety are formed in the transition area between the two the front pin part and the rear pin part. The torque surfaces and the clamping surfaces are arranged in different pin parts. For example, the clamping surfaces are preferably formed on the front pin part and the torque surfaces are preferably formed in the rear pin part.
