Preconditioned bus bar interconnect system
A method is provided for interconnecting the batteries in a battery pack in a manner that is designed to minimize damage and contamination of the contact surfaces of the interconnect and the battery terminal, thereby minimizing connection resistance and increasing interconnect reliability.
Gas sensor and method of making
A gas sensor includes a metallic shell extending along a shell axis and defining a shell attaching surface that is substantially perpendicular to the shell axis; a metallic shield extending along a shield axis and defining a shield attaching surface that is substantially perpendicular to the shield axis; and a ceramic sensing element extending along a sensing element axis, the sensing element being rigidly fixed at a first axial location of the sensing element to the shell and the sensing element being laterally supported by the shield at a second axial location of the sensing element that is axially spaced apart from the first axial location. The shield is attached to the shell at an interface formed between the shield attaching surface and the shell attaching surface, thereby accommodating misalignment between the shield axis and the shell axis. A method of making the gas sensor is also provided.
TAPE MATERIAL HAVING CLAD STRUCTURE FOR MANUFACTURING IGNITION PLUG ELECTRODE
The present invention relates to a tape material for manufacturing an ignition plug electrode, the tape material being a member for forming an electrode chip, in which a base metal layer and a precious metal layer are cladded, on a bonded region set on an electrode base material of an ignition plug, the member is in the form of a long tape in which the base metal layer being in contact with the bonded region is cladded with the precious metal layer being in contact with the base metal layer, the base metal layer has a width substantially equal to one of the longitudinal width, lateral width and diameter of the bonded region. According to the present invention, bonding between a precious metal chip and a substrate can be reliably maintained to prolong the life of an ignition plug. Accordingly, precious metals can be efficiently used to save resources.
ELECTRICALLY ASSISTED PRESSURE JOINING APPARATUS AND ELECTRICALLY ASSISTED PRESSURE JOINING METHOD
An electrically assisted pressure joining apparatus and an electrically assisted pressure joining method join a first metal member and a second metal member together, and includes an electrode portion, an intermediate portion including a plurality of micropores and inserted between a first metal member and a second metal member, and a pressure portion connected to the electrode portion to receive a current from the electrode portion and transfer the current to the first metal member and the second metal member to apply a pressure to the first metal member such that the first metal member and the second metal member are joined together by the intermediate portion.
FLASH BUTT WELDING MEMBER AND FLASH BUTT WELDING METHOD FOR PROVIDING WHEEL RIM WELD PART WITH EXCELLENT FORMABILITY
Provided are a flash butt welding member and a flash butt welding method for providing a wheel rim weld part with excellent formability. The flash butt welding member of the present invention satisfies that a weld part has a hardness of 220-270 Hv, and d<0.25T, when d is the closest distance between fine-grained heat affected zones (HAZ) formed at the left and right of the weld part while facing each other and T is the thickness of a weld base metal, and satisfies L/T>2, when the total length of an upset part constituting the weld part is L.
CAPACITIVE DISCHARGE WELDING OF DISSIMILAR METALS
A method of joining a first piece of an automotive component that is made from a first material to a second piece of the automotive component that is made from a second material includes machining a fay surface onto each of the first and second pieces of the automotive component, cleaning the fay surfaces of each of the first and second pieces of the automotive component, placing a metal filler between the fay surfaces of the first and second pieces of the automotive component, holding the first and second pieces together with the metal filler positioned between the fay surfaces of the first and second pieces, and passing an electric current through the first piece, the metal filler and the second piece to melt the metal filler and weld the first piece to the second piece.
THERMALLY EXPANDABLE COMPOSITIONS AND USE THEREOF IN WELDING SEALER TAPES
A thermally expandable composition including at least one solid rubber R, at least on tackifying resin, at least one blowing agent, a vulcanization system, and 0.5-30 wt.-% of fibrous magnesium oxysulphate or carbon fibers or a mixture thereof. Also, a shaped article including a substrate layer composed of the thermally expandable composition, to a method for providing sealing, structural adhesion, baffling, or combination thereof to a structure of a manufactured article, and to use of fibrous magnesium oxysulphate or carbon fibers or a mixture thereof in a thermally expandable composition to improve sag resistance and/or flame resistance properties of said composition.
METHOD FOR EVALUATING RESISTANCE WELDING QUALITY OF BATTERY BY USING EDDY CURRENT SIGNAL CHARACTERISTICS
The present technology relates to a method for evaluating resistance welding quality of a battery by using eddy current signal characteristics, wherein high reliability can be provided by preventing an error caused by a variation according to differences in physical properties of individual batteries, and an evaluation process is simple and clear by applying a non-destructive method.
Method and device for manufacturing joining apparatus
A method of manufacturing a joining apparatus includes: providing a first metal member including an opening and a joint structure; providing a second metal member including an outer circumferential wall capable of contacting an inner circumferential wall that surrounds the opening and a joined structure, to which the joint structure is joined; causing the first metal member and the second metal member to move relative to each other, bringing one of a first joining section, which is configured by the inner circumferential wall and the outer circumferential wall, and a second joining section, which is configured by the joint structure and the joined structure, into contact, and separating the other joining section; starting energization between the first and the second metal members; bringing components of the other joining section into contact with each other; and joining the first and second joining sections by the relative movement and the energization.
