Disclosed is a board made from acetylated rubberwood elements and a method for making same. The acetylated rubberwood elements have an acetyl content of at least 17% and/or are prepared by acetylating rubberwood elements using an acetylation agent in the vapour phase. The invention also pertains to acetylated rubberwood elements prepared by using an acetylation agent in the vapour phase.

Green process for modifying wood

This invention relates to a process for modifying wood. The process comprises treating the wood with an impregnating solution comprising an alkali metal (or alkaline earth metal) silicate, under conditions sufficient to impregnate the wood with one or more of the components of the impregnating solution. The process can comprise an optional second impregnation with a second impregnating solution. The process also comprises adding gaseous carbon dioxide to the treated wood, in the absence or presence of water, under pressure ranging from about 2 to about 12 bars, thereby lowering the pH of the treated wood to about 11 or below, to stabilize and/or fix the components of the impregnating solution in the wood. The process is green, non-toxic, and the resulting modified wood or wood product can be used across all primary construction and infrastructure applications.

A weight ratio of the DCOI to the retaining additive in the composition is in a range of 1:5 to 5:1.

The present disclosure discloses a method for preparing an anti-mold and odor-removing oriented strand board (OSB). The anti-mold and odor-removing OSB includes a biologically active substance. The method includes preparing the biologically active substance, preparing a molecular nest carrier, loading the molecular nest carrier with the biologically active substance, preparing a functional impregnating agent, and impregnating a OSB with the functional impregnating agent. Preparing the molecular nest carrier includes first-time modifying zeolite powder, second-time modifying zeolite powder, modifying -cyclodextrin, mixing, and cross-linking. The anti-mold and odor-removing OSB prepared by the present disclosure exhibits excellent antibacterial, anti-mold and odor-removing performance, high mechanical strength, and superior aging resistance.
