A portable tile cutter includes a main unit having a base frame and a guard connected to the base frame, a cutter blade pivotally mounted at the guard, a driving unit connected to the guard and operable to rotate the cutter blade, a first handle connected to the driving unit, and a second handle connected to the guard and providing a grip. The component parts of the portable tile cutter are so arranged that moving one or both the driving unit and the second handle can achieve adjustment of the gap between the first handle and the grip of the second handle. Thus, the portable tile cutter can fit different users having different body sizes.

A scribing wheel for scribing a brittle material-made substrate. A disc-shaped scribing-wheel base material in use is so designed that a mid-portion of a disc periphery has the largest diameter. A diamond film is formed on the periphery by a CVD method. The periphery is ground in the middle so that a plane including a circle defined by ridge line becomes perpendicular to the central axis of the scribing wheel.

A method for processing a brittle plate includes a breaking step in which a pressing member for pressing a surface of the brittle plate and a support member for supporting a back face of the brittle plate are used to bend and deform the brittle plate and break the brittle plate along a score line formed on the surface of the brittle plate. The support member includes a flat portion that is arranged flat against one portion of the brittle plate to support the brittle plate, and a regulating portion that regulates a bending deformation shape of the brittle plate when the pressing member is pressed against a predetermined position of a remaining portion of the brittle plate. The breaking step includes breaking the brittle plate along the score line that is within the remaining portion of the brittle plate.

The pillar post includes a body having a fluid inlet port, at least one internal passage, a fluid exit port, and a fluid flow metering element. At least a portion of the fluid flow metering element is disposed within the internal passage. The at least one internal passage provides a path for a fluid flow from the inlet port to the fluid exit port, and the fluid exit port is positioned such that the fluid flow exiting the fluid exit port exits in close proximity to the cutter wheel.
