The assembly includes a plurality of inserts disposed within the apertures and in engagement with the stop surfaces. The assembly further includes a plurality of gas springs in biased engagement with the inserts. Individual gas springs of the plurality of gas springs are adapted to independently compress under load to permit independent movement of individual inserts within the apertures relative to the insert housing.

Method of manufacturing mechanoreception stimulation fabric
12059396 · 2024-08-13 · ·

A method for manufacturing the mechanoreception fabric for incorporation into a garment or item of apparel sets a liquid substrate to a fabric weave to produce a plurality of protuberances in graticulate array and spaced apart across a surface of the fabric. The plurality of protuberances includes pyramidal nodes, each independent and separate from other nodes, not less than 1 mm apart at the base and not more than 5 mm apart at each apex and 1.5 mm in height. Because the nodes are separated and not in contact with each other, the fabric produced is still stretchable and wearable when incorporated into an item of apparel despite the nodes having a hardness of between Shore A 60 and 80.

ENERGY DISSIPATING HELMET
20180249778 · 2018-09-06 ·

A helmet has inner and outer shells separated by a plurality of interconnected relatively soft columns or posts. The columns each have a middle post or pillar section, a capital that is of larger diameter than the post, and a base also of larger transverse dimension than the post. When an impact above a design threshold occurs on the outer shell, the columns, particularly the post sections thereof, near the impact location compress and buckle, dissipating impact kinetic energy, while columns spaced from the impact zone stretch and support more of the impact force. The applied force is therefore reduced and spread out over a relatively large area, and a resultant wave created within the column manifold disperses additional heat, further reducing the force and torque applied on the outer shell and transmitted to the inner shell and onto the skull of a helmet user. A method and mold for fabricating the column manifold are also disclosed.

Method for producing a cylindrical mould member for moulding three- dimensional products from a mass of one or more food starting materials

A rotary cylindrical mold member and a method for its production, is adapted to be used in a system for molding three-dimensional products from a mass of one or more food starting materials which are suitable for consumption. The method includes preparing at least one mold body forming part of the cylindrical outer surface of the mold member, wherein one or more recessed mold cavities are formed. Subsequently preparing a support member defining one or more fluid channels, recessed in the support surface Heat emitting parts or particles are provided close to the inner surface of the mold body and/or the supporting surface of the support member. Energy is provided to the heat emitting parts or particles, thereby causing the parts or particles to emit heat and thereby locally melt the adjacent porous first plastic and the second plastic to obtain a weld and thereby secure the support member and the mold body to each other.

THIN-WALLED MICROPLATE AND THERMOFORMING METHOD
20180141263 · 2018-05-24 ·

Described herein are microplates having wells with ultra-thin walls and methods of forming thereof. The microplates can be made by thermoforming processes that use ultrasound, electricity, etc., to heat a thin polymer sheet or film prior to molding. Vacuum can be optionally applied to help form or shape the wells.

TECHNIQUES FOR METALLIC MATERIAL DEPOSITION IN ADDITIVE FABRICATION AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

According to some aspects, a method is provided of forming a metallic object via additive fabrication, the method comprising obtaining a geometric description of a first object with an exterior surface, generating a geometric description of a second object, the second object bounded by the exterior surface of the first object and having one or more voids, fabricating said second object via additive fabrication based on said geometric description of the second object, and depositing a metallic material onto said second object, wherein the metallic material is deposited into said voids of second object.

Gas-based material compression and portioning

An apparatus includes a fixed assembly and a reciprocating assembly. The fixed assembly includes a hopper, a first gas manifold, and a dispensing chamber, and the reciprocating assembly includes a channel assembly defining a channel conduit, a shield plate vertically aligned therewith, and a second gas manifold. The reciprocating assembly may move, in relation to the fixed assembly, to a first position to enable the channel conduit to be filled with bulk compressible material from the hopper, a second position to enable compressible material to be pushed from the channel conduit to the dispensing conduit and to be compressed in the dispensing chamber according to a first gas directed through the channel conduit by the first gas manifold, and a third position to enable the compressed material to be pushed out of the dispensing conduit according to a second gas directed through the dispensing conduit by the second gas manifold.
