SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UPRIGHT CASTING MOLD FOR PRODUCING A COMESTIBLE BAKED PRODUCT IN COMPLEX FORMS
A system and method for producing a comestible baked product in complex shapes using upright cast molding wherein a portion of the interior cavity forms a baking cup which can optionally receive a liner. Embodiments generally include a first part and second part that are configured to be joined together along a seam. When configured, an outer surface is created and an inner surface cavity which creates a contiguous internal hollow space in the form of a three-dimensional shape is formed. A portion of this internal hollow space forms a cup. The cup can be circular shaped or a different shape entirely such as a square. The mold may provide a means for supporting the mold in its designated position. Other embodiments may include a single piece that is attachable to the rim of a cup of a multi-cup baking pan or to a single stand-alone cup.
Modular tooling systems and methods
A modular tooling arrangement includes a base member comprising a planar working surface, a frame circumscribing a first cavity at least partially defined by the planar working surface, and a plurality of plates configured to be received in the first cavity for forming a second cavity of a desired shape and size. The plurality of plates at least partially define the second cavity configured to receive a work piece. The plurality of plates may be replaced with plates of various sizes to vary at least one of the size and shape of the second cavity.
METHOD FOR CURING ROOM TEMPERATURE CURABLE SILICONE COMPOSITIONS
This disclosure relates to a method for reducing gas bubble entrapment from bulk cured room temperature condensation curable silicone compositions. The method comprising applying a predefined volume of a bulk cured room temperature condensation curable silicone composition bulk curable silicone composition onto or into a target substrate. The method further comprising at least initially curing the composition in an atmosphere having a relative humidity of X %, wherein X has a value in the range of 0<X?40%, for a predetermined time or until no gas bubbles remain visible in the composition.
Laminate apparatus with bonded liner
A laminate apparatus for engaging a fluid includes a structural medium made from plies bonded together with a resin. The structural medium defines a fluid facing surface. The laminate apparatus further includes a liner membrane bonded to the fluid facing surface of the structural medium with the resin. The liner membrane has one or more of a desired barrier characteristic and a desired chemical compatibility characteristic with respect to the fluid.
Injection mould for manufacturing a rotary part made of a composite material having external flanges, in particular of a gas turbine casing
The invention relates to an injection mold (4) for manufacturing a rotary part made of a composite material having outer flanges, comprising a mandrel (2) on which a fiber reinforcement is intended to be held (9) and including a central wall (6) the profile of which matches that of the part to be manufactured and two side plates (8), molding wedges (12) for bearing against a non-covered surface of the fiber reinforcement, and two outer bells (14) for covering the molding wedges and the plates of the mandrel with sealing O-rings (24) being inserted between the bells and the plates of the mandrel, the bells each being provided with an attachment flange (20) for bearing against one another with at least one sealing O-ring (26) inserted therebetween, the attachment flanges of the bells being clamped against one another.
METHOD FOR IMPREGNATING A FIBROUS PREFORM USING A SEAL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A MATRIX REINFORCED BY A FIBROUS PREFORM
A method for impregnating a fibrous preform by injection or infusion, comprising steps of: providing a mold having at least two portions, said mold presenting an inlet orifice and a vent orifice placed on opposite sides of the mold; placing a fibrous preform in a portion of the mold; placing a thermo-expandable seal in a passage formed between an inside wall of the mold and the fibrous preform, said passage extending substantially along the direction (X) extending between the opposite sides of the mold; closing the mold; heating the mold so that the thermo-expandable seal expands and shuts off said passage; and impregnating the fibrous preform with an impregnation material.
Shim for a compression mold with improved sealing
A shim for a compression mold for manufacturing a component from reinforced plastic, typically from SMC, comprising a fixed molding element, a mobile molding element, and a mobile shim that can be moved by an actuator. The mobile shim comprises a conventional part made of steel but also a part made of a high expansion material with a mean coefficient of expansion that is high enough that its own expansion at the molding temperature places the shim in compression against the molding element and seals against this element, thus eliminating flash on the molded part. This material is advantageously a polyetheretherketone, or PEEK. A mold comprising this shim and a compression molding method are also disclosed.
Mold, method for manufacturing molded foam body, and molded foam body
A mold that: makes it possible to manufacture a molded foam body wherein a reinforcing member extends to a portion of the outer face of the molded body main body that corresponds to a parting line in the inner face of the cavity of the mold; and prevents molding problems stemming from the reinforcing member getting into the aforementioned parting line. Also: a method for manufacturing a molded foam body using the aforementioned mold; and a molded foam body manufactured thereby. The aforementioned mold (1) is provided with a seal member (7) that seals the space between mating faces (2a, 3a) of mold parts (2, 3) when the mold is fastened, and said seal member (7) is designed so as to be able to seal the space between the mating faces (2a, 3a) even if the reinforcing member (22) gets in between the mating faces (2a, 3a) on the cavity (4) side of the seal member (7).
APPARATUS FOR RECEIVING A BAKING MOLD AND HOLDING THE BAKING MOLD IN A DESIRED POSITION FOR BAKING
An apparatus for receiving a baking mold and holding the baking mold in a desired position for baking. For a baking mold that is held together by a seal that extends around the edges of the mold, the apparatus includes a slot or trough that bisects the top of the apparatus and receives the seal within the trough. Other embodiments include receptors for protrusions from the baking mold and others include a rim that the baking mold sits over.
METHOD FOR IMPREGNATING A FIBROUS PREFORM USING A SEAL, AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A MATRIX REINFORCED BY A FIBROUS PREFORM
A method for impregnating a fibrous preform by injection or infusion, the method including the steps of providing a mold having at least two portions, said mold presenting an inlet orifice and a vent orifice placed on opposite sides of the mold; placing a fibrous preform in a portion of the mold; placing a seal in a passage formed between an inside wall of the mold and the fibrous preform, said passage extending substantially along the direction extending between the opposite sides of the mold; closing the mold so that the two portions of the mold co-operate with the seal in such a manner as to shut off said passage; and impregnating the fibrous preform with an impregnation material.
