ISOLATING ROBOTIC ACTUATORS FROM FOOD AND BEVERAGE PREPARATION
Provided is a device, comprising: a barrier configured to impeded or prevent particles shed by a robot in a first volume of space from entering a second volume of space in which the robot manipulates a workpiece; and a robot having three or more degrees of freedom, the robot comprising: a first portion disposed on a first side of the barrier in the first volume, the first portion comprising an actuator of the robot, the actuator being configured to drive movement of the robot to manipulate the workpiece; and a second portion disposed on a second side of the barrier in the second volume, the second portion comprising an end-effector of the robot by which the robot makes contact with the workpiece.
Automated station comprising a processing tool for edible liquids and assembling method thereof
An automated station is provided with a tool comprising a linear actuator having a power supply inlet adapted to be releasably connected to a feed line; a container for edible liquids; a closure movable by means of the linear actuator between a closed position in which the edible liquid is in the container so that the liquid is shaken by the action of the automated station and an open position in which the edible liquid is poured out of the container in a controlled manner through the action of the automated station; and a lever arm pivoted and connected between the linear actuator and the closure so as to reduce the load applied by the actuator to decrease a first resultant force applied by the closure on a fluid seal in the closed position with respect to a second force applied by the actuator to the pivoted lever arm.
BREWING SYSTEM
Examples relating to a brewing system are provided. The brewing system includes an outer housing; a first tank and a second tank arranged within an interior region of the outer housing; a fluid coupling system arranged between the first tank and the second tank and fluidly coupling the first tank and the second tank; and an operator interface for controlling the operation of the brewing system. In another example, a method of brewing a beverage using a brewing system is provided. The method comprises: receiving, by the brewing system, an indication of a recipe via an operator interface; receiving ingredients; mashing the ingredients to form a mash; transporting the mash; lautering the ingredients to form a wort; cooling the wort; receiving an indication of whether to perform a fermentation of the wort or a transfer of the wort to a separate system; and cleaning the brew system.
LAUTER COMPONENT OF A BREWING SYSTEM
A component of a brewing system is provided, which comprises: a tank; a whirl arm disposed within the tank; an inlet pipe coupled with the whirl arm; and an outlet pipe coupled with a fluid coupling system; wherein the tank is configured for filtering a mash to form a wort. A brewing system is provided, which comprises: a first and a second tank, and a fluid coupling system, the second tank comprising: an inner and an outer cylinder; a whirl arm within the second tank; an inlet pipe coupled with the whirl arm and the fluid coupling system; and an outlet pipe coupled with the fluid coupling system. A method is provided, which comprises: receiving mash within a second tank from a first tank; circulating mash to form wort; transferring the wort into the first tank; receiving wort within the second tank from the first tank; and chilling the wort.
AUTOMATED BREWING SYSTEM
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to an automated brewing system. In examples, a brewing system includes a variety of brewing components (e.g., one or more tanks, pumps, heaters, chillers, and/or sensors) and an associated brewing controller that manages operation of the brewing components. The brewing system may include an operator device that is in communication with the brewing controller and obtains one or more recipes (e.g., from a brewing platform) to be performed by the brewing system, thereby at least partially automatically brewing liquid based on the recipe accordingly. A user device may enable a user to browse recipes of the brewing platform, view the status of the brewing system, and/or control the brewing system, among other examples.
BREW COMPONENT OF A BREWING SYSTEM
A component of a brewing system is provided, comprising a tank; a rotary arm disposed within the tank; an inlet pipe coupled with the rotary arm; and an outlet pipe coupled with a fluid coupling system of the brew system. Additionally, a brewing system is provided, which comprises: a first and a second tank, and a fluid coupling system between the first and second tank, the first tank including: an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder; a rotary arm; an inlet pipe fluidly coupled with the rotary arm; and an outlet pipe. Further, a method is provided, comprising: receiving water into the first tank; boiling the water; receiving malt into the first tank; mashing the malt to form a mash; transferring the mash out of the first tank; receiving wort into the first tank; boiling the wort within the first tank; and transferring the wort out of the first tank.
Globally networked on-demand coffee blending and brewing system
The techniques described herein provide a globally networked on-demand coffee blending and brewing system. In particular, the system herein can hold coffee beans of distinctly different origins and taste profiles in sealed environmentally controlled “smart hoppers”, and can dynamically grind and blend any combination of available beans based on “flavor profiling” to create a user's desired cup of coffee. Additionally, the network connectivity of the system herein provides advanced collaboration within the coffee community, such as for sharing coffee blends, providing feedback to all levels of the supply chain, and indicating fair trade authenticity.
Hot beverage preparation apparatus comprising a continuous flow heater
In order to reduce limescale formation on the continuous flow heater during operation of an apparatus for preparing freshly brewed hot beverages which has a hot water generator, which is embodied as a continuous flow heater, and a brewing apparatus, to which hot water from the hot water generator can be supplied, a controller for actuating the continuous flow heater is provided, which controller switches on the continuous flow heater for the purpose of drawing a pre-specified quantity of hot water and switches off said continuous flow heater shortly before the quantity of hot water is completely output, so that the temperature of the hot water at the output of the continuous flow heater is declining at the end of the drawing operation.
System and method for highly uniform production of cold-brewed beverages having extended shelf-life
Provided are surprisingly effective methods for producing uniform, cold-brew beverages (e.g., coffee, tea, fruit juice/extract, vegetable juice/extract, etc.) having an extended shelf-life, comprising: use of non-oxygen gas mixtures comprising hydrogen (to reduce or eliminate total packaged oxygen (TPO)), use of pressure/vacuum ports in brewing and/or conditioning chambers to provide chambered vacuum and/or pressure to enhance oxygen elimination, use of continuous mixing/agitation during the final conditioning phase to provide for even particulate suspension, use of a two-phase filtration system to provide for uniform tailoring of the amount and/or size of undissolved solids, and use of jacketed brewing and/or conditioning chambers for enhanced control of temperature, extraction uniformity and conditioning.
