PRIMER COMPOSITIONS FOR INJECTION MOLDING
20200339823 · 2020-10-29 ·

A curable primer composition comprising:(a) a curable component such as methacrylate; (b) a cure initiating component; and (c) a polymer material selected from the group consisting of: (i) block polymers represented by S-A-S where S is polystyrene and A stands for a polymer or copolymer formed from one or more of ethylene, propylene, butylene, and styrene, which are optionally substituted with carboxylic acid or maleic anhydride; provided that when A comprises styrene then A is a copolymer of styrene with at least one of ethylene, propylene and butylene, and is optionally substituted with carboxylic acid or maleic anhydride; and (ii) polystyrene-poly(ethylene-propylene) (SEP); and (iii) any combination of said polymer materials. The composition is applied to a part then photocured. It is dry to touch. Thereafter a thermoplastic material such as a polyolefin is overmolded (e.g. injection molded) over the applied composition. It enhances bond strength of the polyolefin to the part.

Primer compositions for injection molding

Curable compositions, such as by way of exposure to radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum, for use as a primer composition for injection molding applications, are provided.

Method of producing optical connection component

A method of producing an optical connection component in which a surrounding of a plurality of bent glass fibers is integrally coated with resin. The method includes a step of preparing upper and lower molds for molding around a fiber array in which the plurality of glass fibers are arranged in a specified arrangement direction. The molds have two walls spaced apart from each other by a larger distance than the width of the fiber array. The method also includes a step of providing around the fiber array the molds such that each of the walls is disposed outside a corresponding one of two glass fibers that are included in the plurality of glass fibers and that are located at respective sides of the fiber array. The method also includes a step of supplying the resin into the molds.

POLYURETHANE LAMINATED MOLDING ARTICLES AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
20200324529 · 2020-10-15 ·

This present disclosure relates to a polyurethane laminated molding article, the polyurethane laminated molding article comprising a core layer and a reinforcing fiber layer disposed on at least one side of the core layer, the reinforcing fiber layer being formed by applying a polyurethane resin composition on one or more layer(s) of reinforcing fiber felt or reinforcing fiber fabric and curing the polyurethane resin. The polyurethane laminated molding article provided by the present disclosure has good demoulding properties and enables a high productivity.

Composite sporting equipment

A sporting equipment is disclosed. The sporting equipment may include a harness, and a protective plate. The protective plate may be integrally formed with the harness from a plurality of fibers that are continuous from the harness into the protective plate.

IMPREGNATED VEILS

Impregnated veil and compression molding process of reinforcing fiber pre-impregnated continuous and discontinuous thermoset and thermoplastic materials. Veils are incorporated within the process, filming or laminating stages of the pre-pregging, either hotmelt or solvent based processes, in a variety of chosen resins. The veils help to improve visual part quality, reduce fiber splitting, and provide an isolating material in applications where incompatible materials must exist.

Method for producing a roof element of a motor vehicle and roof element having a moulded section

A roof element and a process for the production of a roof element are provided, which may have the steps of providing a polymer mixture; admixing an organosiloxane compound with the polymer mixture; a mixing of the polymer mixture, with the organosiloxane compound admixed, with an isocyanate compound to give a polyurethane material and introduction of the polyurethane material into a mold cavity of a foaming mold in a manner such that the polyurethane material reacts to completion and a molded section of the roof element is shaped in the mold cavity wherein the organosiloxane compound is accumulated at the surface of the molded section, wherein in a surface layer of thickness from 0.5 m to 20 m of the molded section, the organosiloxane compound is accumulated; and demolding of the roof element from the foaming mold.

Composite glass pane with a mounting hole

A composite glass pane with a through mounting hole. The composite glass pane having a first pane and a second pane that are bonded to one another via a thermoplastic intermediate layer and at least one passage that extends through the entire composite glass pane, wherein the edge of the passage is provided with a polymeric element formed in one piece having a through hole running through the passage.
