MULTI-LAYERED FIBROUS STRUCTURES FOR MODERATE TEMPERATURE
An article comprising: (a) one or more nonwoven material layers comprising a lofted fibrous material; and (b) one or more molded material layers having a fibrous matrix, wherein the article is configured to at least partially thermally insulate an item or compartment and the article absorbs external heat or cold to substantially prevent amplitude of temperature fluctuation of the item or within the compartment.
POLYMER FLOOR ELEMENT
A polymer floor element includes a decorative top layer on a substrate made of polymer. The floor element has a rectangular or square surface, for which it is valid that for a strip of the floor element with a first point Q defined as a vertex of the strip, and a point P at a distance of 40 cm with respect to Q along a side of the strip, suspended over a rod with diameter 2 cm with its side on which P and Q are defined, perpendicular to the axis of the rod, so that P is located in the vertical direction at the highest point where the floor element touches the rod. The strip, with point Q along one side, hangs down from the rod under the strip's own weight; the straight line PQ intersects the vertical through P at an angle less than 15°.
Arc flash resistant multilayered material having low thickness
A multi-layered material with low thickness is provided, having properties of thermal and electric insulation, flame retardant capacity and high mechanical strength, useful for the manufacture of personal protective equipment and more in general of work items for the protection against arc flash effects. The material provides a high grade of protection against arc flash with good flexibility and comfort for the wearer, who is thus protected without being hindered in movements.
COMPOSITE PANE WITH A HOLOGRAPHIC ELEMENT AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
A composite pane includes first and second panes, a layer stack arranged therebetween including a first thermoplastic intermediate layer, a separating layer, an adhesive layer, a photopolymer layer having a holographic element, a carrier layer, and a second thermoplastic intermediate layer. The carrier layer contains polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene, polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl chloride, and/or cellulose triacetate and has a thickness of 20 μm to 100 μm. The carrier layer is arranged directly adjacent the photopolymer layer. The separating layer contains polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene, polymethyl methacrylate, polycarbonate, polyamide, polyvinyl chloride, and/or cellulose triacetate and has a thickness of 10 μm to 300 μm. The adhesive layer is arranged directly adjacent the photopolymer layer and the separating layer.
HIGH-TEMPERATURE, THERMALLY-INSULATIVE LAMINATES INCLUDING AEROGEL LAYERS
This disclosure includes high-temperature, thermally-insulative laminates, Some laminates have a front surface, a back surface, one or more heat-dispersing layers, each comprising at least 90% by weight of: a metal having a melting point of at least 1,300° C. and a thermal conductivity of at least 15 W/Km; or graphite, and one or more heat-insulating layers coupled to the heat-dispersing layer(s), the heat-insulating layer(s) each including a layer of polymeric aerogel, wherein at least a majority of the front surface is defined by one of the heat-dispersing layer(s).
Undercover for vehicles having high elasticity and rigidity and method for manufacturing the same
Disclosed are an undercover for vehicles with high elasticity and rigidity and a method of manufacturing the same. The undercover for vehicles with high elasticity and rigidity may include a needle-punched nonwoven fabric having a multi-layer structure of felt layers including a first PET fiber and a low-melting-point PET fiber, and each of the felt layers may have improved tensile strength and have optimized fiber alignment, to thereby improve the binding between fibers, mechanical rigidity and elasticity, as well as to reduce the weight of components, improve durability and secure harmlessness and inline workability.
Vacuum insulated articles with reflective material enhancement
Provided are vacuum-insulated articles that comprise an evacuated space disposed between first and second walls and a reflective material disposed within the evacuated space. Also provided are methods of fabricating such articles.
Piezoresponsive Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composite
A fibre-reinforced polymer composite comprising fibres bound within a solid polymer matrix, wherein at least some of the fibres are in contact with graphene, and wherein the composite changes electrical resistance when deformed.
LAMINATED GLAZING HAVING AN INFORMATION ACQUISITION SYSTEM VIEWING AREA
A laminated glazing to be used with an information acquisition system includes a first glass sheet; a first interlayer; a photopolymer film; a second interlayer; a second glass sheet; and a first information acquisition system viewing area for transmitting information to be collected by the information acquisition system wherein the photopolymer film provides an evenly patterned area in the first information acquisition system viewing area.
Deployable KiriForm flexures
A deployable Kiriform flexure includes first and second sections. The first section of the Kiriform flexure includes a plurality of curved fins arranged about a central axis. The second section of the Kiriform flexure includes a plurality of curved fins arranged about a central axis. Each fin of the second section is joined with a fin of the first section such that the first and second sections share a common central axis in a configuration that produces out-of-plane elastic buckling of the fins to actuate the Kiriform flexure from a substantially flat structure that extends substantially only in two dimensions orthogonal to the central axis to an expanded structure extending substantially in a third dimension parallel to the central axis when at least one of the first and second sections is rotated relative to the other section.
