VEHICLE GLAZING WITH IMPROVED STIFFNESS
A vehicle glazing with improved stiffness having a modified structure which comprises at least one stiffening portion, wherein each portion is a recessed portion and/or a raised portion, and wherein each portion has at least a portion of its contour being sharply curved.
A VEHICLE GLAZING HAVING A SHARPLY CURVED PORTION AND THE METHOD FOR BENDING
The present invention discloses a vehicle glazing having a sharply curved portion and the method for bending such glazing The sharply curved portion of the glass may extend along the surface of the glass. The sharply curved portion is obtained by locally heating by means of a laser source, heating the portion of the glass to a temperature sufficiently high enough to allow said portion of glass to bend. In preferred embodiments, the sharply curved portion comprises a first bent portion described by a first radius and a second bent portion described by a second radius, wherein the point where the radiuses of the first and second bent portions change their orientation generate an inflection point. The radius of curvature of the first and second bent portions is of less than 150 mm.
Window lifter assembly
A window lifter assembly includes a guide rail defining an adjustment direction for a window pane, a cable for transmitting an adjusting force for moving the window pane along the guide rail, a driver element connected to the window pane and the cable, and a sliding element being a separate component from the driver element, wherein the driver element and the sliding element are connected via an at least two-stage latching connection, via which the sliding element and the driver element can be first connected to each other in a mounting position, wherein when the sliding element is shifted along the guide rail to an end position, moves relative of the sliding element the driver element such that the sliding element and the driver element move into a functional position which is different from the mounting position.
Glass Windows With Matched Edges and Joined Edges
A system may have windows. Each window may have inner and outer glass layers laminated together with polymer. Optical component layers may be incorporated into the polymer or the polymer may be free of embedded components. To avoid mismatch between adjacent window edges in systems with multiple adjacent windows, adjacent windows may be formed from shared-cut-edge-matched window panel sections that are cut from a common window panel. Windows may be formed from a single portion of laminated glass or may be formed by joining multiple smaller pieces of laminated glass together along a seam.
Shaped glass laminates
Embodiments of a laminate including a first curved glass substrate comprising a first viscosity (poises) at a temperature of 630 C.; a second curved glass substrate comprising a second viscosity that is greater than the first viscosity at a temperature of 630 C.; and an interlayer disposed between the first curved glass substrate and the second curved glass substrate, are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the first curved glass substrate exhibits a first sag depth that is within 10% of a second sag depth of the second curved glass substrate. In one or more embodiments, the first glass substrate and the second glass substrate exhibit a shape deviation therebetween of about 5 mm or less as measured by an optical three-dimensional scanner or exhibit minimal optical distortion. Embodiments of vehicles including such laminates and methods for making such laminates are also disclosed.
Skylight for installation in a wall of a vehicle
A skylight assembly for installation in a vehicle wall includes a lens body having an exterior surface and a cap connected to an end of the lens body and a lens flange. There is a nut member to secure the lens body. A gasket is disposed between the lens member and the vehicle wall and includes a first leg portion and a second leg portion. The first leg portion extends into a recess between a surface of an aperture in the wall and the exterior surface of the lens body and the first leg portion has a uniform thickness which is less than a width of the recess thereby forming a gap. The second leg portion extends from the first leg portion substantially at a right angle and is disposed between and in contact along its length with the lens flange and the exterior of the wall about the aperture.
Glass article having perpendicular draw lines
A glass article has substantially perpendicular draw lines and includes a first outermost pane having a thickness of from 1.1 to 4.0 mm. The glass article also includes a second outermost pane disposed opposite the first outermost pane and having a thickness of from 0.3 to 1.05 mm. The glass article further includes a transparent interlayer disposed between the first and second outermost panes. Each of the first outermost pane and the second outermost pane independently has a length and includes draw lines that extend along the length. The first outermost pane is bonded to the second outermost pane via the transparent interlayer such that the draw lines of the first outermost pane are disposed substantially perpendicularly to the draw lines of the second outermost pane.
Motor gearbox assembly
A motor gearbox and suspension arrangement is provided for a vehicle. The arrangement includes a drive system for driving a wheel of the vehicle, and the drive system includes an electric motor and a gear train associated with the motor. The arrangement further includes a housing that receives the motor and the gear train, and a suspension control arm having a first end configured to be connected to the vehicle and a second end configured to be connected to the housing.
WRAP AROUND VEHICLE WINDSHIELD
Systems, methods, and devices for a vehicle windshield are described herein. A vehicle includes a vehicle body comprising a front, a first side, and a second side, wherein the first side and the second side are opposite one another on the vehicle body. The vehicle comprises a cabin located within the body of the vehicle, wherein the cabin comprises an interior that is configured to accommodate at least one person. The vehicle comprises at least one door that provides ingress and egress to the interior of the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle comprises a windshield that provides a visual line of sight out of the cabin for a user located within the interior of the cabin, and wherein the windshield extends across the front and at least partially on to at least one of the first side or the second side.
LAMINATED GLASS
A laminated glass according to the present invention includes an outer glass sheet, an inner glass sheet that is arranged opposite to the outer glass sheet and has a smaller thickness than that of the outer glass sheet, and an interlayer sandwiched between the outer glass sheet and the inner glass sheet. A transmittance with respect to light having a wavelength of 850 to 950 nm is 30 to 80%. The outer glass sheet has a thickness of 1.8 to 2.3 mm. The inner glass sheet has a thickness of 0.6 to 2.0 mm. The interlayer includes a plurality of layers including at least a core layer. The core layer has a Young's modulus of 1 to 20 MPa at a frequency of 100 Hz and a temperature of 20 C., the Young's modulus being lower than the Young's modulus of the other layer.
