Systems and methods for determining application availability
Example systems and methods for determining application availability are described. In one implementation, a vehicle entertainment system establishes a communication link with a mobile device near the vehicle. The vehicle entertainment system receives, from the mobile device, an identification of currently available applications on the mobile device. The vehicle entertainment system also updates an in-vehicle user interface to display the currently available applications on the mobile device to at least one occupant of the vehicle.
Systems and methods for reconstruction of a vehicular crash
A system for detecting a vehicular collision (i) receives occupant data from at least one internal sensor; (ii) receives external data from at least one external sensor; (iii) determines positional information for at least one occupant of a vehicle; and (iv) generates a virtual reconstruction of the vehicle collision. The virtual reconstruction indicates a severity of vehicle damage and a severity of injury to the at least one occupant caused by the vehicle collision. The system may also utilized vehicle occupant positional data, and internal and external sensor data to detect potential imminent vehicle collisions, take corrective actions, automatically engage autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle systems, and/or perform at least one action to reduce a severity of a potential injury.

There is provided a vehicle comprising a body having an exterior, an external display screen visible on the exterior of the body, a proximity sensor, a non-transitory memory storing an executable code and a vehicle information database including vehicle information, and a hardware processor executing the executable code to detect, using the proximity sensor, an individual within a proximity of the vehicle, activate the external display screen in response to detecting the individual within the proximity of the vehicle, display, on the external display screen, the vehicle information from the vehicle information database stored in the memory, in response to detecting the individual within the proximity of the vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTERACTING WITH A MOBILE DEVICE USING A HEAD-UP DISPLAY
The invention relates to systems and methods for executing functions on a mobile device based on gestures and commands of a user inside a vehicle. The system comprises a head-up display that reflects the screen of a mobile device and a motion-detection device connected to the mobile device. The motion-detection device is configured to gather information on the movement of the user's fingers regardless of whether or not the user's hands are on the steering wheel of the vehicle. The mobile device is configured to classify the movement of the user's fingers in a predetermined gesture associated with a predefined instruction, based on which a function is executed on the mobile device.

The controller is further configured to transition the first application into an active state. In addition, the controller is configured to display the active first application to the left of the plurality of inactive applications on the display screen.

A vehicle interior component providing a user interface for an occupant is disclosed. The component may comprise a base; a cover comprising a surface; an intermediate layer comprising a foam material; and a sensor to detect an electrical signal in response to input at the user interface, contact at the surface of the cover, or compression of the foam material. The foam material may comprise electrical properties, conductivity, resistance, compression-responsive electrical properties, or variation in voltage. The foam material may comprise an additive, an additive material, a conductive material, a conductive additive, conductive particles, carbon particles, carbon black particles, carbon dust, carbon particles in a substrate, or carbon particles interspersed with a non-conductive substrate. The foam material may comprise foam with conductive particles, carbon foam, carbon additive foam, polyurethane foam, or polyurethane with carbon particles. The cover may comprise a non-conductive material, leather, vinyl, textile, or fabric.
Actuator for a vehicle compartment
A vehicle includes a compartment mounted to a frame of the vehicle. The compartment includes a box coupled to a vehicle in a fixed position relative to the vehicle and a latch system coupled to the glove to allow a user access to the box. The latch system includes a shape-memory alloy wire and a spring that are used during actuation of the latch system.
Agricultural vehicle having reconfigurable controls
An agricultural tractor having an auxiliary control station located outside of the tractor cab. The auxiliary control station is used for the actuation of tractor components, e.g. hydraulic cylinders, when an operator is outside of the cab. The auxiliary control station has a user interface which allows the external controls of the auxiliary control station to be reassigned to operate different actuatable elements of the tractor, thereby providing for increased ease-of-use of the tractor when an operator is outside of the cab.
