A motor vehicle has a central light control unit, a plurality of peripheral light control units distributed within the vehicle, and a plurality of interior light modules, each of which has a plurality of light sources and is associated with a peripheral light control unit. As a result of the receipt of a specified light effect identification by the peripheral light control units, a moving light is produced by the interior light modules associated with the peripheral light control units.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR A VEHICLE FORCE INDICATOR
20190139327 · 2019-05-09 ·

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus to provide a vehicle force indicator responsive to one or more of: an amount of tilt of a motor vehicle, an amount of acceleration and/or deceleration of the motor vehicle and a correlation of tilt and speed with location of the motor vehicle.

Method for operating a lighting of a motor vehicle and motor vehicle for carrying out the method
10252665 · 2019-04-09 · ·

A method for operating illumination of a motorized transportation vehicle wherein a light appearance is produced, which extends over at least a large portion of a width of the motorized transportation vehicle. The light appearance becomes visible at least for a transportation vehicle driver when the motorized transportation vehicle is switched on and is subsequently changed to display a driving readiness of the motorized transportation vehicle. In this way, a very pronounced, brand-individualizing visualization of the driving readiness becomes possible, which is easily perceived by the transportation vehicle driver.

Electrochromic vehicle window

An electrochromic vehicle window is disclosed. The electrochromic vehicle window comprises a plurality of electrochromic layers, each electrochromic layer having a different color or different visual properties. Each electrochromic layer independently oscillates between varying degrees of transparency to indicate the status of a vehicle, such as that the vehicle is charging.

Pillar module

A pillar module may include: a pillar body, a drive unit connected to the pillar body and configured to support the pillar body so that the pillar body is movable, a first lighting unit installed on the pillar body and configured to create a first lighting pattern, a second lighting unit disposed to be spaced apart from the first lighting unit and configured to create a second lighting pattern, and a switching unit connected to the first lighting unit and the second lighting unit and configured to selectively expose the first lighting unit and the second lighting unit to the outside of the pillar body.

Bi-directional light system

A light system comprising: a first light blade; a second light blade; a plurality of first light sources directing light into the first light blade in a first direction; a plurality of second light sources directing light into the first light blade, the second light blade, or both so that the light exiting the first light blade, the second light blade, or both extends in a second direction that is substantially normal to the first direction away from a vehicle housing the light system; wherein the plurality of first light sources and the plurality of second light sources provide a light function; and wherein the plurality of first light sources, the plurality of second light sources, or both are configured to illuminate in sequence so that the first light blade, the second light blade, or both are illuminated from a first edge toward a second edge.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MOTION SICKNESS PREVENTION
20190061655 · 2019-02-28 · ·

A method and apparatus for preventing motion sickness of vehicle occupants are designed to display a motion image in a vehicle interior to convey visual information to the occupants regarding the vehicle's current and upcoming movements. The motion image typically includes a plurality of patterns with the same shape and different sizes arranged concentrically to create a three-dimensional image based on perspective representation, and changes the patterns in advance of upcoming vehicle movements. Thus, the occupants can perceive such moving patterns in their peripheral vision and consciously or unconsciously process and anticipate the vehicle movements, thereby enabling them to avoid or mitigate the experience of motion sickness.

Lighting Control System

A lighting control system of the type including an electronic device with a processor, memory, wireless communication capability and a user interface may be used. A controller may be used with a receiver to receive wireless communication from the electronic device and an output terminal with at least one lighting array in electrical communication with the output terminal of the controller. A power supply may be provided with the controller thereby providing electrical power to the controller and the lighting array. Software on the electrical device may be used providing a graphical interface with a user to actuate the controller to provide an electrical output to the lighting array. The combination may be placed on a building, vehicle or any object to allow a plurality of lighting themes and palettes. Music may also be used to control the lighting output as well as speed or acceleration.

Light output system for a self-driving vehicle

A control system of a self-driving vehicle (SDV) can dynamically determine a set of autonomous driving actions to be performed by the SDV, and generate a set of intention outputs using a light output system of the SDV based on the set of autonomous driving actions, where the set of intention outputs indicating the set of autonomous driving actions prior to the SDV executing the set of autonomous driving actions. The control system can then execute the set of autonomous driving actions using acceleration, braking, and steering systems of the SDV. While executing the set of autonomous driving actions, the control system can generate a corresponding set of reactive outputs using the light output system to indicate the set of autonomous driving actions being executed, where the corresponding set of reactive outputs replacing the set of intention outputs.
