Trailer backup assist system with predictive hitch angle functionality

A trailer backup assist system is provided herein. The system includes a calibration feature for calibrating an imaging device used for hitch angle detection. The system also employs multiple hitch angle detection methods, a number of which may run in parallel to increase the intervals at which a hitch angle can be measured. The system additionally includes a predictive feature in which a hitch angle can be predicted in instances where a trailer sensing device fails. The system is further configured to estimate a trailer length and generate steering commands that are invariant to the estimated trailer length under certain conditions.

System and method for recording and reporting license number violation

A method and system for recording and reporting license plate indicia are provided. The method includes receiving an input command from a user of a vehicle requesting a capture of an image of license plate indicia of a second vehicle, capturing, via one or more cameras, one or more image of the license plate of the second vehicle, determining, using the processing circuitry, a license plate number from the captured one or more images of the license plate, and displaying the recognized license plate number on a display of the vehicle. The method further includes detecting a location of the vehicle and storing the determined license plate number, the location of the vehicle, and the image of the license plate indicia in an audio head unit or in a navigation unit.

A control system for a work vehicle includes a position determination unit which determines a position of loading on a loaded vehicle based on a state of loading on the loaded vehicle, a display, and a representation control unit which has the display show loading guidance corresponding to the position of loading determined by the position determination unit for a laterally viewed loaded vehicle.

Intelligent rear-view mirror system

Described herein is a rear view mirror system that is configured to adjust to a user's position without direct user interaction. In some embodiments, a camera may be included in the rear view mirror system so that its line of sight is perpendicular to a reflective surface. The camera may capture a digital image of the user. Eye patterns may be identified from the image information to determine an appropriate position for the mirror. In some embodiments, the mirror may be repositioned so that the camera's line of sight is directed halfway between the identified eye information and the center of a rear window. In some embodiments, the mirror may be re-adjusted periodically.

VEHICULAR CONTROL SYSTEM WITH TRAILERING ASSIST FUNCTION

A vehicular control system includes a camera having an exterior field of view at least forward of the vehicle. During a forward maneuver of the vehicle towing a trailer, the vehicular control system detects an object present exterior of the vehicle which ought not be impacted during the forward maneuver of the vehicle towing the trailer based at least in part on image processing by an image processor of image data captured by the camera. Responsive at least in part to detection of the object, the vehicular control system determines a forward driving path for the vehicle towing the trailer that avoids the detected object so that the trailer does not run over or contact the detected object. The vehicular control system determines the forward driving path at least in part responsive to (i) processing of captured image data and (ii) trailer data pertaining to physical characteristics of the trailer.

DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM

There is provided with a shooting system for a mobile object. A first shooting unit shoots surroundings of a mobile object via a first transmissive portion. A second shooting unit shoots surroundings of the mobile object via a second transmissive portion. A first heater is capable of heating the first transmissive portion. A second heater is capable of heating the second transmissive portion. A notification unit notifies a passenger of information. A control unit determines a malfunction of the first heater and the second heater, and causes the notification unit to give notification regarding an occurrence of the malfunction. The control unit suppresses the notification by the notification unit when it is determined that the second heater has malfunctioned compared to when it is determined that the first heater has malfunctioned.

Systems and methods for dewarping images

A computer-implemented method comprises: extracting a setting from a description file of a virtual pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera used to capture an original image through a wide-angle lens; determining a first set of coordinates of a pixel of the original image for each cell of a sparse conversion map represented as a first look-up table, wherein the sparse conversion map corresponds to a sparse grid of pixels of an output image; determining, via interpolating the first set of coordinates, a second set of coordinates of a pixel of the original image for each cell of a full conversion map, wherein the second set of coordinates is represented as a second look-up table, wherein the full conversion map corresponds to a full grid of pixels of the output image; instructing a display to present the output image, wherein the original image is less rectilinear than the output image.

Imaging device

In an imaging device mounted in the interior of a vehicle, a camera module is arranged so as to image the area ahead of the vehicle via a windshield. A processing substrate is provided integrally with the camera module and includes a processing part that controls the camera module. When the side on which an incident light receiving face exists in the camera module is defined as camera front and the side opposite to the camera front is defined as camera rear, the whole processing substrate is arranged at the camera rear with respect to the camera module.

DYNAMIC ROLLOVER ZONE DETECTION SYSTEM FOR MOBILE MACHINERY
20200189507 · 2020-06-18 · ·

A dynamic rollover zone detection system that is easily attached to mobile machinery and dynamically detects a rollover zone around the mobile machinery. The system detects humans and objects within the rollover zone using one or more pre-trained machine learning models in order to prevent accidents and potential collisions between machinery and people or objects in the rollover zone. If a human or obstacle is identified in the rollover zone, an alert or warning is provided and/or the mobile machinery is disabled.
