SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAGNETIC OCCULT LESION LOCALIZATION AND IMAGING
20230023448 · 2023-01-26 ·

Systems and methods for marking the location and extent of an anatomical region-of-interest, such as a tumor, using magnetic seeds whose position and orientation are measured or otherwise detected using a detection device that includes two or more magnetic sensors are described. One or more magnetic seeds are implanted to mark and define the center and extent of an anatomical region-of-interest and a magnetic sensor-based detector system is used to accurately identify the location of the magnetic seeds.

System and method for local three dimensional volume reconstruction using a standard fluoroscope

A system for constructing fluoroscopic-based three-dimensional volumetric data of a target area within a patient from two-dimensional fluoroscopic images including a structure of markers, a fluoroscopic imaging device configured to acquire a sequence of images of the target area and of the structure of markers, and a computing device. The computing device is configured to estimate a pose of the fluoroscopic imaging device for at least a plurality of images of the sequence of images based on detection of a possible and most probable projection of the structure of markers as a whole on each image of the plurality of images. The computing device is further configured to construct fluoroscopic-based three-dimensional volumetric data of the target area based on the estimated poses of the fluoroscopic imaging device.

NONCONTACT VITAL SIGN SENSING DEVICE

In a noncontact vital sign sensing device of the present invention, a gain detector is provided to detect a gain between an oscillation signal and a received signal. Gain detection can cancel out the amplitude noise of an oscillator such that frequency information of vital sign(s) of a subject can be extracted from the gain without null-point issue, and vital sign(s) of the subject located at any position within sensing range can be detected.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING PATIENT MOTION VIA CAPACITIVE POSITION SENSING
20230226376 · 2023-07-20 ·

Systems and methods are described for the monitoring of patient motion via the detection of changes in capacitance, as measured using a capacitance position sensing electrode array. The changes in capacitance may be processed to determine a corresponding positional offset, for example, using a calibration data set relating capacitance to offset for each electrode of the array. The detected positional offset may be employed to provide feedback to a surgeon or operator of a medical device, or directly to the medical device for the control thereof. A medical procedure may be interrupted when the positional offset is detected to exceed a threshold. Alternatively, the detected positional offset may be employed to manually or automatically reconfigure a medical device to compensate for the detected change in position. Various configurations of capacitive position sensing devices are disclosed, including embodiment in incorporating capacitive sensing electrodes with a mask or other support structure.

Method and system for performing upright magnetic resonance imaging of various anatomical and physiological conditions

Vasculature or parenchyma is imaged using upright MRI techniques, on patients who may have conditions such as congestive heart failure, or otherwise be healthy. When an individual is horizontal, venous drainage is minimized, causing the vessels to remain engorged, also referred to herein as vascular congestion. Vascular congestion results in an enlarging of the vessels and surrounding tissue causing the vessels to be more visible on MRIs. The decrease in vascular visibility in upright subjects is in part, due to an increase in venous drainage. Patients suffering from coronary and/or pulmonary deficiencies (e.g. CHF) experience decreased rates and degrees of venous drainage. In one embodiment, the present invention uses upright imaging to visualize these enlarged vessels.

Method and system for rule based display of sets of images

The invention provides, in some aspects, a system for implementing a rule derived basis to display image sets. In various embodiments of the invention, the selection of the images to be displayed, the layout of the images, as well as the rendering parameters and styles can be determined using a rule derived basis. In an embodiment of the present invention, the user is presented with images displayed based on their preferences without having to first manually adjust parameters.

Expended wear ambulatory electrocardiography monitor

An electrocardiography monitor is provided. A sealed housing includes one end wider than an opposite end of the sealed housing. Electronic circuitry is provided within the sealed housing. The electronic circuitry includes an electrographic front end circuit to sense electrocardiographic signals and a micro-controller interfaced to the electrocardiographic front end circuit to sample the electrocardiographic signals. A buzzer within the housing outputs feedback to a wearer of the sealed housing.

INDUCTIVE SENSING SYSTEM AND METHOD

An inductive sensing system (8) has a resonator circuit (10) with an antenna (12) for simultaneously applying electro-magnetic signals to a body and sensing secondary electromagnetic signals returned from the body. The system includes signal sensing means (30) which is configured to detect a measure indicative of an imaginary part of an additional inductance component added to the resonator circuit by the secondary electromagnetic signals but which does not measure the real part. In particular, the signal sensing means may be configured to detect a measure indicative of damping in the resonator circuit (e.g. a damping factor), and comprises no means for detecting any measure indicative of variations in a natural frequency of the resonator circuit.
