Aspects of the present disclosure provide a smart relaxation mask configured to output a stimulus and collect biometric information while the stimulus is output to determine if the subject is paying attention to the stimulus. If the subject is not focused on the stimulus, the mask adjusts at least one of an audio, visual, or haptic output. The stimulus is adjusted in an effort to shift the subject's attention to the stimulus and away from racing thoughts.

Dynamic emotion detection based on user inputs
11593243 · 2023-02-28 · ·

A method by a network device for dynamically detecting emotional states of a user operating a client end station to interact with an application. The method includes receiving information regarding user inputs received by the client end station from the user while the user interacted with the application during a particular time period and determining an emotional state of the user based on analyzing the information and information regarding user inputs received by the client end station from the user while the user interacted with the application during one or more previous time periods that together with the particular time period form a time window.

DEVICES WHICH PROMPT DIVERSE BRAIN STATES TO UPGRADE BRAIN PERFORMANCE

An electronic device that includes an electronic calendar containing scheduled events, the device further including a) software that matches an event with an optimal brain state, and b) means for convening to the user of the device such optimal brain state when the calendar indicates that the event is imminent or has arrived.

Method of identifying chronic pain using low frequency fluctuations in nucleus accumbens
11707221 · 2023-07-25 · ·

A method of identifying chronic pain in a patient including using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), performing a functional brain scan in the NAc (nucleus accumbens) of a patient brain including extracting activity from the NAc. Database information, which includes fMRI data obtained from healthy patients, may be compared to the extracted activity to determine if patient is a chronic pain patient. In patients with chronic pain, the method may be repeated to evaluate the effects of the treatment. A resting state brain scan may be performed initially, and a Fourier transform may be performed to obtain frequency content. The frequency bands of the method may be broken down to extract information in a 0.01-0.027 Hz frequency band.

METHOD TO EXERCISE EYES, HANDS AND FEET COORDINATION
20180008184 · 2018-01-11 ·

Currently there is no apparatus or method to exercise mental agility by the simultaneous and/or independent control from the hands, feet, and eyes.

As depicted in FIGS. 1-7, the eye detects that the foot is slower than the hand and the information is sent immediately from the eye to the brain. Subsequently, the brain will instantaneously instruct the foot to speed up and stay on track in the template. The method can be repeated to ensure that the cursors have reached the target at the same time. Repetition enhances the coordination and reflection of the user.

DUAL EEG NON-CONTACT MONITOR WITH PERSONAL EEG MONITOR FOR CONCURRENT BRAIN MONITORING AND COMMUNICATION
20180008145 · 2018-01-11 · ·

Aspects of the disclosure can provide a method and device for detecting EEG signals of a first person in proximity to the device. The device can include a non-contact EEG directional circuit having non-contact sensors, the non-contact EEG directional circuit being configured to detect the EEG signals produced by a brain of the first person without making contact with the first person. The device can further include a processor coupled to the non-contact EEG directional circuit that is configured to analyze the EEG signals to detect patterns in the EEG signals that correspond to a state of the first person in proximity to the non-contacting sensor and feedback device that is configured to provide a second person with an indication of the state of the first person in proximity to the non-contacting sensor. Additionally, the device can include a contact EEG circuit having sensors that are in contact with the second person and that is configured to detect second EEG signals produced by a brain of the second person, wherein the processor is coupled to the contact EEG circuit and is configured to analyze the second EEG signals to detect patterns in the second EEG signals that correspond to a state of second the person.

Ear apparatus and methods of use

Selectively controllable apparatus for insertion into an ear canal, and related methods of use and operation for behavioral control. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a body configured for insertion into an ear canal. In one variant, the body includes one or more thermal mechanisms which enable selective increase or decrease of temperature of at least portions of the ear canal so as to implement behavioral control of the user, such as to mitigate cravings for food, alcohol, narcotics, or other potentially deleterious substances. In one variant, a mild nausea or pre-nausea condition is created within the user according to a time-temperature profile so as to induce the aforementioned behavioral modification.

Autonomy first route optimization for autonomous vehicles

Embodiments herein can determine an optimal route for an autonomous electric vehicle. The system may score viable routes between the start and end locations of a trip using a numeric or other scale that denotes how viable the route is for autonomy. The score is adjusted using a variety of factors where a learning process leverages both offline and online data. The scored routes are not based simply on the shortest distance between the start and end points but determine the best route based on the driving context for the vehicle and the user.
