For example, one or more embodiments described herein can comprise a system, which can comprise a memory that can store computer executable components. The system can also comprise a processor, operably coupled to the memory, and that can execute the computer executable components stored in the memory. The computer executable components can include a mapping component that can generate a stimulus map by mapping a stimulus parameter to a response from an entity to application of a neuromodulating stimulus, with the first neuromodulating stimulus being applied to the entity based on the first stimulus parameter, to therapeutically cause or prevent a sensation.

LATERAL RETRACTOR SYSTEM FOR MINIMIZING MUSCLE DAMAGE IN SPINAL SURGERY
20230148023 · 2023-05-11 ·

A lateral retractor system for forming a pathway to a patient’s intervertebral disc space includes a single dilator and a retractable dual-tapered-blade assembly. The dilator may feature a narrow rectangular body for insertion at an insertion orientation parallel to the fibers of the patient’s psoas muscle, at an approximate 45-degree angle to the patient’s spine. The retractable dual-tapered-blade assembly consists of only two blade subassemblies, each having a blade bordered by adjustable wings, along with built-in lighting and video capabilities. The dual-tapered-blade assembly may be passed over the single dilator at the insertion orientation and rotated approximately 45-50 degrees to a final rotated orientation parallel to the intervertebral disc space before the two blade subassemblies are retracted away from one another to create the surgical pathway, while simultaneously and continuously assessing for encroachment upon one or more nerve structures within 360-degrees of the instrument. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Neuromodulation of Primary and/or Postsynaptic Neurons

A neurostimulation system comprises at least one stimulation electrode configured to deliver an electrical stimulus to neural tissue and at least one measurement electrode configured to record a neural recording of a response of the neural tissue to the stimulus. A processor is configured to assess the neural recording to produce a measure of postsynaptic activation.

Method and apparatus for monitoring and ablating nerves

Described is an apparatus for locally monitoring nerve activity that may be incorporated into a nerve ablation catheter. Such a catheter is equipped with magnetic sensing for both identifying nerves and assessing the success of the ablation. The catheter is also equipped with an ablation instrument for both stimulating and destroying nerve tissue.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS
20170344706 · 2017-11-30 ·

Systems and methods for data compression which facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. The methods comprise performing the following operations by a computing device: generating Normalized Data (“ND”) from Original Data (“OD”) that defines a Normalized Waveform (“NW”) that is unitless and scaled from zero to one; processing ND to extract Micro-Movement Data (“MMD”) defining a Micro-Movement Waveform (“MMW”) comprising a plurality of MMD points; and generating compressed data comprising a stochastic signature of MMW. Each MMD point determined based on a value of a peak of NW and a value representing an average of all data point values between a first valley of NW immediately preceding the peak and a second valley of NW immediately following the peak. The stochastic signature is defined by empirically estimated values of at least one parameter representing a Probability Distribution Function (“PDF”) of a continuous family of PDFs.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL COGNITIVE ABILITY EVALUATION SYSTEM
20230172527 · 2023-06-08 · ·

There are provided a system, an apparatus, a program, and a method for enabling objective evaluation of a three-dimensional cognitive ability through quantification. A three-dimensional cognitive ability of a measurement target person is evaluated by acquiring a position of a moving object, the position enabling identification of a distance between the moving object and the measurement target person, by receiving input of an active response of the measurement target person taken in response to a three-dimensional position of the object recognized by the measurement target person, and by determining whether the position of the object that is acquired and the response that is input correctly match. The moving object may be provided in virtual reality by a virtual reality headset, and the three-dimensional cognitive ability may also be evaluated by displaying a moving image of when the object seen from a predetermined point of view is moved in virtual reality from a movement start position to a movement end position, in a direction of approaching the predetermined point of view along a predetermined movement route, and based on a response corresponding to a position of the object.

System for motor rehabilitation of a paretic limb in stroke patients

A system or method for motor rehabilitation of a paretic limb including: a first plurality of sensors for registering brain neurosignals; a body-actuator; a hybrid brain machine interface for decoding brain neurosignals into movements of the body-actuator; a second plurality of EMG sensors couplable to the paretic limb for registering its EMG activity; a device for providing the patient with instructions relative to a series of exercises and/or tasks to be carried out with the paretic limb;
wherein upon carrying out a series of training sessions, each session comprising at least a set of such instructions, the hybrid brain machine interface is configured to switch between controlling the movements of the body-actuator based on the decoded brain neurosignals and a hybrid control of the movements of the body-actuator, when a significant level of decodable EMG activity has been registered, the hybrid control being an EMG-gated brain control.

Example systems and techniques for denervation, for example, renal denervation. In some examples, a processor determines one or more tissue characteristics of tissue proximate a target nerve and a blood vessel. The processor may generate, based on the one or more tissue characteristics, an estimated volume of influence of denervation therapy delivered by a therapy delivery device disposed within the blood vessel. The processor may generate a graphical user interface including a graphical representation of the tissue proximate the target nerve and the blood vessel and a graphical representation of the estimated volume of influence.
