Coupler for a railway vehicle, cores and method for production
A coupler having a support provided through the body of the coupler and a plurality of openings in the coupler which are configured as open cavities. The coupler structure includes a shank that has a vertical support as well as lateral support. The coupler may be configured with a double I-beam structure with openings into the shank. Cores that may be fixed to the mold may be used to form the coupler and produce the openings in the shank.

Uncoupling Lever For Rail Car With Biasing Member
An uncoupling lever for a railcar has first, second, and third lever members slidably connected to each other for relative motion along their lengths. The second and third lever members are urged apart from one another along their lengths with a biasing member. The uncoupling lever has a handle configured for manual operation of the uncoupling lever, and a hook configured for actuating a lock of a coupler of the railcar. One of the handle and hook is operatively connected to the first lever member and the other of the handle and hook is operatively connected to the third lever member.
Modular crash energy management systems for car coupling systems of rail cars
A car coupling system for a rail vehicle includes a first crash energy management system disposed within a draft sill. The first crash energy management system includes a first end plate, a second end plate, and a first central tube disposed between the first end plate and the second end plate. A second crash energy management system is also disposed within the draft sill. The second crash energy management system includes a third end plate, a fourth end plate, and a second central tube disposed between the third end plate and the fourth end plate.
COUPLING ARRANGEMENT
Disclosed is a coupler for a coupling arrangement for a rail wagon. The coupler comprising a body and a knuckle. The body has a head portion at one end for engaging with a knuckle and a butt portion at an opposing end for engaging with a yoke. The knuckle extends between a protruding portion that engages a complementary knuckle of a coupler for an adjoining rail wagon, and a tail extending along a longitudinal axis for coupling the knuckle with the head portion of the coupler. The head portion comprises an interior wall defining an interior cavity for engaging the tail of the knuckle. The coupler is configured such that in use loading induced in the coupler is transferred between the knuckle and the head portion along a substantially evenly distributed load path.

RAILCAR END UNIT
A railcar end unit is operable to be mounted in a center sill between buff and draft sill stops. The buff and draft end bodies are configured to be shiftably mounted relative to the center sill to engage the respective sill stops and to shift axially relative to one another along a unit axis. The end unit includes a buff spring pack operably mounted between the end bodies and compressible along the unit axis from a neutral condition to a compressed condition.
