Conveyor facility having a safety function
10035660 · 2018-07-31 · ·

A conveyor facility having at least one traveling unit, which has an electrical load, in particular an electric drive, and which can be moved along a conveyor path by means of the drive; and a railbus, which is arranged along the conveyor path and which has at least one supply collector wire via which the traveling unit is supplied with power. In order to reduce the space required by the railbus, a safety device is provided which has only one safety collector wire and yet ensures an emergency stop in a fault-tolerant manner.

DETECTION OF DYNAMIC TRAIN-TO-RAIL SHUNTING PERFORMANCE
20180201284 · 2018-07-19 ·

Systems and methods for detecting the dynamic train-to-rail shunting performance of a train as it is moving along the rails of a railroad track. The systems and methods use portable equipment temporarily installed at a site where it is desired to test the shunting of one or more trains or the electrical equipment installed at the track. The systems and method use sensor plates and a high speed recording system to simultaneously capture measured train-to-rail shunting characteristics and the positioning of a train's axles and any rail conditions impacting the measurements. The captured information can be used to fine tune the train, the electrical equipment installed at the track and/or to design new devices.

Train Coupler Structural Health Monitoring System
20180162423 · 2018-06-14 · ·

The present invention discloses a train coupler structural health monitoring system. The system includes one or more sensors mounted to or integrated with the train coupler, a data acquisition unit for receiving signal or data from the sensors, and a processing unit for determining the train coupler's structural health based on the received signal or data. Inspections via the system can be performed in real time continuously or periodically while a train is in service. It can also be performed offline while a train is not in service. Inspection method can be either passive, where sensors collect signals without generating excitation signals to the structure, or active, where some sensors are used as actuators to actively send excitation signals to the structure and other sensors or the actuators themselves collect the structural response signals. The data acquisition unit receives signals or data from sensors. The processing unit processes sensor data acquired by the data acquisition unit and determines if there are structural changes or damages.

Methods and systems for alerting a user to the presence of a fault in an electromechanical system in a railway infrastructure
20180154913 · 2018-06-07 ·

A computer-implemented method for alerting a user to the presence of a fault in an electromechanical system in a railway infrastructure, the method comprising: receiving electrical usage data indicative of the value of an electrical usage parameter associated with the electromechanical system; receiving temperature data indicative of the present temperature of the electromechanical system; determining, based on a predetermined relationship between the electrical usage parameter and the temperature, whether or not the value of the electrical usage parameter is indicative of a fault in the electromechanical system and if so, issuing an alert to indicate the presence of the fault.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISPLAYING A COURSE OF A PROCESS OF AT LEAST ONE RAILWAY SAFETY UNIT, AND RAILWAY SAFETY SYSTEM HAVING SUCH A DEVICE
20180141575 · 2018-05-24 ·

A method displays a course of a process of at least one railway safety unit. While using at least one device control, process data supplied by the at least one railway safety unit, are converted by dual-channel processing into first and second image data of the course of the process to be displayed. The image data are output to be displayed on a data display unit. In order to simplify the displaying of the course of the process, a pair of display spectacles having a first and a second display is used as a data display unit. The first display displays a first representation of the first image data delivered thereto that is visually detectable by the right eye, and the second display displays a second representation of the second image data delivered thereto that is visually detectable by the left eye.
