Methods and apparatus for measuring and monitoring an anchoring operation
Novel techniques and equipment for anchoring a boat include sensing and measuring the real time rate and length of rode release based on detecting real time changes in the angular position of a windlass by computer vision using a portable computing device. Rode release is also detected using novel methods based on sensing sound, rode chain movement, and sensing acceleration and/or motion. The apparatus can include software operable to provide safe anchoring based on monitoring real times values of the rate and length of rode release, comparing these values to the speed and position of the boat, and providing local and remote status and alarm information to crew members.
MOORING EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN IN-LINE TENSIONING
Systems and methods for tensioning mooring lines are provided. The systems include an in-line tensioner that may include a removable chainwheel, a tail chain disconnecting table configured for disconnection of a tail chain and docking of an ROV, a chain guide having low-friction pads that reduce frictional engagement between the in-line tensioner and mooring chains, and a target link stopper that is configured to stop movement of the mooring line at a predetermined location, such that the mooring line has a predetermined length and such that a predetermined link of the mooring line is positioned within a gripping zone of latches of the in-line tensioner.
Systems and methods for securing and removing tail chains from mooring lines
Methods and systems for handling a tail chain of a mooring line are provided. A fairlead stopper having a tail chain support is provided for removing and reconnecting tail chain to the mooring line. The tail chain support is positioned to receive the tail chain of the mooring line, and includes a first chain coupler to secure a first portion of the mooring line, a second chain coupler to secure a second portion of the mooring line, and a working zone between the chain couplers for removing and reconnecting the tail chain.

CHAIN TENSIONER WITH CHAIN SWITCH DEVICE
Disclosed is a chain tensioner for employment on a bottom of a water body, wherein the chain tensioner is configured for adjustment of the length of a tensioning chain that extends between the chain tensioner and a floating offshore facility, wherein the chain tensioner includes a chain lock for engaging and confining a link of the tensioning chain in the chain passage from aside the tensioning chain, and a chain switch device having a chain guide for engaging the tensioning chain in the chain passage from aside the tensioning chain, wherein the chain guide is moveable between a first position in which the chain lock engages a link of the tensioning chain, and a second position in which the tensioning chain passes the chain lock.
System and method for connecting a mooring line to a body
The disclosed invention relates to a connecting system for connecting a mooring line to a body comprising a first part being attached to the mooring line and connected with a pin having two ends, to a second part being attached to the body and having an arrangement for guiding the pin into a hang-off structure in the second part where the hang-off structure substantially comprises at least one hook. The system is characterized by a connecting structure for a temporary pulling means mounted on the first part in transverse direction to its longitudinal axis and eccentrically to an axial center of gravity of the first part. The invention relates also to a method regarding the application of the system.
