10822058 · 2020-11-03 · ·

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for a modular buoy deployment system including modules arranged to be assembled at a destination location and an aerial delivery apparatus arranged to deliver the buoy modules to the destination location. The modules are connectable to at least one other module and form a buoy when assembled. The module buoy deployment system also optionally includes a platform arranged to receive one or more aerial delivery apparatuses. Each module conforms to a delivery criteria of the aerial delivery apparatus. The module buoy deployment system also optionally includes a power system arranged to recharge the aerial delivery apparatus.

MOORING ASSEMBLY AND VESSEL PROVIDED THEREWITH
20200324862 · 2020-10-15 ·

A mooring assembly for a vessel includes a turret with a lower receptacle cone receiving a buoy, mooring lines attached to the buoy, and risers. The buoy includes a plurality of pivot legs positioned on a lower part of the buoy, wherein the legs are pivotably connected to the buoy through a horizontally extending pivot axis to pivot in a radial plane with respect to the buoy between a first position with the buoy in the cone of the turret, in which the legs extend mainly vertically downwards and engage an inner surface of the cone, and a second position with the buoy outside of the cone, in which the legs extend mainly horizontally outwards. The lines are attached to the legs and each leg has such a length that in the first position its end is located at a level below the lowermost end of the cone.

MOORING BUOY

A mooring buoy includes a first floating body, a second body slidingly connected to the first and normally submerged, a mooring line connected to the second body by a connector housed in a seat in the first body and movable between a retracted position and a protruding position, enabling fixing the mooring line. The buoy further includes at least one chamber, in one or both of the first and second bodies, a fluid circuit admitting fluid into and out of the chamber, and a control unit connected to the fluid circuit. The control unit controls the fluid circuit to vary the amount of the fluid in the chamber, causing a variation of the immersion depth of the first body with respect to the second body or vice versa and, consequently, movement of the connecting element between the retracted and protruding positions.

Systems and processes for recovering a vapor from a vessel

Systems and processes for recovering a gas from a vessel. The system can include a buoy that can include a fluid swivel assembly. The fluid swivel assembly can have a first swivel section rotatably coupled to a second swivel section. The system can also include a first liquid transfer conduit, a first gas transfer conduit, a second liquid transfer conduit, and a second gas transfer conduit. The first swivel section and the second swivel section can be configured to maintain fluid communication between the first liquid transfer conduit and the second liquid transfer conduit. The first swivel section and the second swivel section can be configured to maintain fluid communication between the first gas transfer conduit and the second gas transfer conduit. The first gas transfer conduit and the second gas transfer conduit can be configured to convey a gas from a vessel to a subsea location.

WAVE ENERGY CONVERTER WITH SURFACE ELECTRIC GRID
20200284235 · 2020-09-10 ·

An energy farm comprising an electrical grid through which power generated by the devices in the farm may be combined and transmitted. The electrical grid is formed through the electrical interconnection of devices in a farm through electrical connections that remain, in whole or at least in part, adjacent to the surface of the body of water on which the devices float. A plurality of converters of the network have no direct or immediate electrical interface with a subsea power cable (i.e. a cable on or under the seafloor), but instead transmit electricity to other converters in a daisy-chained fashion.

Mooring connector assembly

A mooring connector assembly (3) has a body (10) arranged to be pivotally mounted to a structure (1), such as a tethered buoy, to be moored for movement about a pivot axis. At least a part of the body extends below the pivot axis when so mounted and oriented for use. A line stopper (17) is mounted to the part of the body which extends below the pivot axis in use and is operative to retain a mooring line (2) relative to the body. The body is configured to receive a tensioner (20) for tensioning a mooring line (2) retained by the stopper such that the tensioner urges the line at a point which is below the pivot axis when the body is oriented for use. The body may be an elongate tube (10) pivotally connected to a structure to be moored (1) at one end and fitting with a chain stopper (17) at the opposite end. The tube is configured to receive a chain tensioner (20) between the chain stopper (17) and pivot axis.
