A kayak that collapses to form a backpack structure. The kayak includes a plurality of removably connectable hull members. The hull members include at least a middle section, a front section, and a rear section. The middle section comprises a tapered complex body having a cavity. The tapered complex body has a width larger than width of the front section and rear section such that the tapered complex body can receive the front section and the rear section in the cavity of the middle section. A plurality of bolts are configured to removably connect the hull members. The bolts provide pressure to a rubber gasket for connecting the front section and the rear section to the middle section. A cockpit is formed by removably connecting the front section and rear section to the middle section via the bolts. A seat member is removably attached to the cockpit.

Boat steering and propulsion system

Techniques are disclosed to enable a system for controlling the propulsion and steering of a boat by a boat operator. The boat has at least one propulsion and steering motor assembly connected to the boat with a propeller, and a propulsion motor. It also has left and right pivoting pedals to provide a signal that controls the angle of the propeller so that if the left pedal is pivoted in a first pivot direction by a first percentage and the right pedal is pivoted in a second pivot direction by a second percentage, the boat executes a turn, moves forward, or moves in reverse.

Adjustable seat

An adjustable seat has a seat base having a front end and a rear end, a front leg assembly having a top end engaged with the rear end of the seat base and a bottom end opposite the top end for engaging a supporting surface, and a back leg assembly having a top end engaged with the front end of the seat base and a bottom end opposite the top end for engaging the supporting surface. The back leg assembly is pivotally connected to the front leg assembly between the top end and the bottom end of the front leg assembly and the back leg assembly. The adjustable seat has an adjustment assembly for selectively locking the front leg assembly relative to the back leg assembly at one of a plurality of lockable positions between a first position and a second position.

Retractable Fin Watercraft Accessory
20170259890 · 2017-09-14 ·

A retractable fin watercraft accessory that provides steering and tracking for a watercraft such as stand-up paddle boards. The retractable fin system gently retracts as it comes in contact with subsurface objects such as rocks, logs and such, allowing the watercraft to freely pass over the object. The system includes a sloped leading edge which can more easily slide past an obstacle. The retractable fin system simply attaches to the watercraft's existing fin mounting box and can be removed from the watercraft without altering the original state of the watercraft prior to being attached. No drilling, welding, gluing or other such custom fabrication is required. The system allows for quick interchangeability between the retractable fin and various rigid style fins, depending on the user's preferences.

Watercraft having retractable drive mechanism

Examples are disclosed that relate to watercraft with retractable drive mechanisms. One example provides a watercraft including a hull having a receiving compartment, and also having a deck. The watercraft also includes a drive unit extending through the deck and the hull of the watercraft and being configured to receive rotational input. The drive unit includes a driveshaft and propeller moveable between an extended position in which the propeller is positioned underneath the hull and a retracted position in which the propeller is positioned at least partially within the receiving compartment.
