Device with reusable supports for packing flat articles and corresponding method
The device enables a free-standing package to be formed with an open, light structure for packing a bundle of individual flat articles placed in direct juxtaposition and aligned along a straight longitudinal axis in the direction of the thickness of the flat articles. The device includes a pair of individual rigid lateral supports which are opposite each other and which rest directly on the respective sides of the bundle. The rigidity of the flat articles in the width direction is used to form the free-standing package. In particular the device enables the longitudinal compression of the flat articles to be controlled, which is useful in the case of flat articles which have a shape memory, such as folding cartons.

Portable paper stacking and storage device
A hand-sized, disposable device, and its method of use for bundling and transporting a stack of small consumer goods, such as boxes, newspapers and magazines for recycling. The method comprises dispensing a pre-cut loop of twine residing in a prefabricated device made of recyclable paper board or cardboard. The twine crosses itself in the cavity of the device and is free to slide in any direction via four total device corner holes for adjusting to a range of sizes of stacked goods. Bundling is completed by drawing two opposing ends of the twine loop from the device corner holes, passing the two ends perpendicularly and simultaneously over the four sides of a stack of goods, and forming a knot on the center of the bundle's top surface. The bundle may then be easily lifted, carried, dropped and disposed of via the knot, one-handedly, without slippage of items from the bundle.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR STACKING BANKNOTES, AND SYSTEM FOR PACKAGING BANKNOTES
According to one embodiment, a banknote stacking apparatus includes a first weight measurement part, a second weight measurement part, and a controller. The first weight measurement part measures a weight of a first banknote bundle. Banknotes laminated along a thickness direction of the banknotes are bundled as the first banknote bundle. The second weight measurement part measures a weight of a second banknote bundle. A first predetermined number of first banknote bundles laminated are bundled as the second banknote bundle. The controller compares the weight measured by the first weight measurement part with the weight measured by the second weight measurement part, and decides whether the number of first banknote bundles bundled as the second banknote bundle is smaller than the first predetermined number, based on a comparison result of the weight.

Paper sheet processing device
Disclosed herein is a paper sheet processing device 100 including: a hopper unit 2 configured to take in paper sheets; a recognition unit 3 configured to read serial numbers of the paper sheets taken in through the hopper unit 2; a database 1202 configured to store the serial numbers read by the recognition unit 3; and a control unit 120 configured to process the paper sheets. The control unit 120 searches the serial numbers stored in the database 1202 for any duplicated serial number, and detects, when finding any duplicated serial number, that duplicate processes have been performed on a paper sheet identified by the duplicated serial number.

Paper sheet handling apparatus
A paper sheet handling apparatus (banknote handling apparatus 100) includes: a housing 12; a transport path forming member 711 disposed inside the housing and configured to form a transport path that transports paper sheets while sandwiching each paper sheet in a direction of the thickness of the paper sheet; and a handing unit (non-bundling stacker module 54) disposed at a predetermined position inside the housing. When jamming of paper sheets occurs in the middle of the transport path, the transport path forming member is displaced so as to open the transport path, in a state where the inside of the housing is opened by an opening and closing unit being opened. The handling unit disposed adjacent to the transport path is movable from the predetermined position so as to form a space that allows the transport path forming member to be displaced.
PAPER SHEET BINDING APPARATUS
According to one embodiment, a paper sheet binding apparatus includes a pressing member(1) that presses object to be bound(T) with a plurality of paper sheets stacked in a stacking direction of the paper sheets to move the object to be bound in the stacking direction, a feed unit(20) that feeds a binding belt(f) in a direction orthogonal to the stacking direction ahead of a moving direction of the object to be bound, a press member(3,4) that folds the binding belt along a back end in the moving direction of the object to be bound which is pressed by the pressing member and around which the binding belt is wound while pressing the back end of the object to be bound, and a welding and cutting unit(7) that welds the folded binding belts with each other and cuts the same.
