METHOD FOR SHAPING THE BOTTOM OF HOT-FILLED CONTAINERS
A method is described for shaping the bottom of hot-filled containers, in which the bottoms of the containers are forced inwardly from a state bulged outwardly, in particular as they cool down. Complex mechanisms for forcing the bottom inwardly are dispensable for the reason that the bottoms are forced inwardly by at least one fluid jet and/or fluid pressure wave. In addition, shaping the bottom can advantageously be carried out in a production region immediately downstream of a closer.
Cooling Holes for Film Wrapped Articles
Holes in the film can be formed after film wrapping the bundle. Slits are formed in the heat shrink film prior to film wrapping the bundle. While the bundle moves through a heat shrink tunnel on a conveyor, the slits can be opened by increasing the shrinkage of the film surrounding the slit. This can be accomplished by directing high speed jets of hot air on the slits. Although slits are preferred the hot air can be used on any opening to increase the size of the opening.
PROCESS FOR PACKAGING STICKY SUBSTANCES IN THE FLUID PHASE WITH A THIN FILM
Process for packaging sticky substances in the molten state, in which the sticky substance is cast in a tray-mould lined be-forehand with a film of non-sticky plastic material and compatible in the fluid state with the sticky substance, including, among other, the phase of lining the internal walls of the tray-moulds with a first thin and easily formable film of the non-sticky plastic material, causing it to perfectly adhere to the walls of the mould by connecting the lower external part of the moulds connection to a vacuum source, in which the degree of vacuum during the opening transient of the connection is modulated.
Method of making compositions comprising multiple layers
A method of making a personal care composition by providing a first layer and a second layer which each are fluid at elevated temperature; solid at ambient temperature; and visually distinctive from each other; providing the first and second layers in fluid state at an elevated temperature in isolated vessels; separately dispensing the first layer by a first nozzle and the second layer by a second nozzle, while maintaining the elevated temperature, into a same package having a circle plan view shape, wherein the positions of the nozzles, relative to the center of the package, are maintained during dispensing, and wherein the middle point of the nozzles do not coincide with the Z axis running vertically through the center of the package; and cooling the dispensed composition for solidifying in the package.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYMER TUBE CONTAINING LIQUID AND BEING SEALED AT CONSTANT INTERVALS AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING POLYMER TUBE
Provided are a method and an apparatus for extruding into a tube and filling the tube at a high speed and simultaneously sealing the tube. Specifically provided is a method for producing a polymer tube, containing a liquid therein and being sealed at constant intervals, the method including an extrusion step of continuously melt-extruding a polymer material through a die into at least one tube, while feeding a liquid into the tube to obtain at least one liquid-containing tube; and sealing step of discontinuously pressing the at least one liquid-containing tube between a pair of pressurizing members at constant intervals to cause pressure-bonding before the tube solidifies, while continuously taking up the extruded tube.
PLASTIC CONTAINER HAVING A MOVABLE BASE
A plastic container comprises an upper portion including a finish defining an opening into the container, a lower portion including a base defining a standing surface, a sidewall extending between the upper portion and the lower portion, the sidewall defining a longitudinal axis, and at least one substantially transversely-oriented pressure panel located in the lower portion. The pressure panel is movable between an outwardly-inclined position and an inwardly-inclined position to compensate for a change of pressure inside the container. The standing surface defines a standing plane, and the entire pressure panel is located between the standing plane and the upper portion of the container when the pressure panel is in the outwardly-inclined position.
METHOD OF HANDLING A PLASTIC CONTAINER HAVING A MOVEABLE BASE
HYBRID SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING CONTAINERS
One embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus for processing sealed plastic containers having a first headspace pressure. The apparatus may include: an open entry port or tunnel for continuously receiving containers; a sanitizer configured to sanitize outside surfaces of the received containers; a perforator configured to perforate or open a cap or seal of the containers within the apparatus; a sealer configured to seal the perforation or opening formed in the cap or seal of the containers; an open exit port of tunnel for continuously exiting the processed containers; and a conveyor system configured to transporting or convey the containers from the open entry port or tunnel, through and within the apparatus, to the open exit port or tunnel and away from the sanitized environment of the apparatus. The apparatus may be further configured to maintain a sanitized environment within the apparatus, perforator, and/or sealer.
Stick Spout Pouch and Cap Stick for Frozen Confections
A confection containing device that contains a confection consumed frozen. The device includes a stick-spout-pouch assembly, and a stick cap. The stick-spout-pouch assembly includes a latching portion integral with a stick portion, and a pouch bag attached to the latching portion. The stick cap attaches to the latching portion of the stick-spout-pouch assembly. The pouch bag contains a confection in a non-frozen state surrounding the stick portion of the stick-spout-pouch assembly. The pouch bag of the stick-spout-pouch assembly is sealed to the latching portion of the stick-spout-pouch assembly. The stick cap attaches to the latching portion of the stick-spout-pouch assembly by a sealed connection. Further, the pouch bag is filled with the confection in a liquid state through at least one opening on the stick-spout-pouch assembly. The opening is on the latching portion of the stick-spout-pouch assembly.
Container closure
A closure for mounting on top of bottles and other containers includes a floating lid and a lid-retainer ring. The closure is configured to withstand a high pressure and high temperature sterilization process known as retort.
