Refuse collection vehicle body with pendulum packer
A refuse collection vehicle body having a receiving hopper with a pendulum packer device mounted for arcuate movement therewithin, a tapered storage compartment for receiving refuse material from the receiving hopper, a tailgate assembly having a pneumatic mechanism for controlling the tailgate latch mechanism, and an ejection system for dumping the refuse material collected within the storage compartment, the storage compartment having a trough or channel associated with its top portion for housing the hydraulic cylinders associated with the pendulum packer device and the tailgate assembly. The hydraulic cylinder associated with the ejection system as well as the hydraulic tank and hydraulic fluid cooler associated with the vehicle body are all positioned over hazmat containment devices to contain any leakage from these components during normal operation. The tapered storage compartment is formed by joining two rectangular sheets of material to a pair of wedge shaped members.
FRONT AND SIDE LOADING PACKERS FOR ELECTRIC REFUSE VEHICLE
A refuse vehicle comprises a chassis, a body assembly, and a refuse interaction mechanism. The body assembly is coupled to the chassis and defines a refuse compartment configured to store refuse material. The refuse interaction mechanism comprises a refuse interaction element, an electrically driven actuator, and an impulse generator. The refuse interaction element is configured to selectively apply a force onto the refuse material within the refuse compartment. The electrically driven actuator is configured to selectively move the refuse interaction element between the receiving position and the force-exerting position. The impulse generator is configured to selectively apply linear impulse to the refuse interaction element.
REFUSE VEHICLE WITH MULTI-SECTION REFUSE EJECTOR
A refuse vehicle includes a chassis having a frame and a cab disposed at one end of the frame, a body including a hopper portion having a first width and a storage portion having a second width greater than the first width, the hopper portion positioned forward of the storage portion, between the storage portion and the cab, a primary ejector having a width equal to the first width, an auxiliary ejector having a width equal to the difference between the first width and the second width, and a pickup. The pickup is configured to selectively couple the primary ejector and the auxiliary ejector.
Ejector for refuse vehicle
A refuse vehicle includes a cab and a body assembly disposed behind the cab. The body assembly includes an ejector and a body at least partially defining a hopper volume and a storage volume. The ejector includes a wall at least partially defining an opening and a coupling pivotally and fixedly coupling a panel to the wall. The wall is movable within the storage volume between a frontmost position and a rearmost position. The panel extends at least partially across the opening when in a closed position. The panel is angularly offset relative to the closed position when in the open position. The ejector is configured to fully eject refuse from the storage volume when the wall is in the rearmost position. The hopper volume extends between the wall and the cab when the wall is in the frontmost position.
Refuse vehicle with multi-section refuse ejector
A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a body, a primary ejector, and an auxiliary ejector. The chassis includes a frame and a cab disposed at one end of the frame. The body includes a hopper portion and a storage portion. The width of the storage portion is greater than the width of the hopper portion. The auxiliary ejector has a width equal to the difference between the width of the storage portion and the width of the hopper portion. The primary ejector is selectively repositionable within the hopper portion and the storage portion of the body to at least one of compact refuse therein or eject refuse therefrom. The auxiliary ejector is selectively repositionable within the storage portion of the body to at least one of compact refuse therein and eject refuse therefrom in tandem with the primary ejector.
REFUSE COLLECTION VEHICLE TAILGATE LOCK SYSTEM
A locking assembly can achieve positive locking of a tailgate, by including a guideblock having a guide slot defined therein, a lockplate configured to be slidably received within the guide slot, and a clevis that is configured to operatively cooperate with the lockplate. A locking hook formed in the lockplate will capture a pin in the clevis to achieve the desired locking capabilities. A capture pin is removably coupled to the guideblock and positioned within a containment in the lockplate to control travel. An actuator is coupled at one end to a portion of the vehicle and at the other end to the lockplate in a manner to cause movement of the lockplate and subsequent movement of the tailgate in an opening direction. The actuator is further configured to cause the tailgate to move in a closing direction until reaching a closed position and then moving the lockplate from an unlocked position to a locked position, thus causing the locking hook to capture the pin in the clevis and further causing the tailgate to be positively locked.
PACK THROUGH EJECT PANEL
There is disclosed a waste collecting device having a container for receiving waste therein. The container has an end wall and an ejector panel. The container encloses a waste receiving volume. The ejector panel has an opening therethrough for allowing access to the waste receiving volume for receiving the waste. The waste collecting device further has a compactor outside the waste receiving volume being operable for pushing the waste in the container through the opening. The ejector panel is movable within the waste receiving volume and relative to a floor of the container for pushing the waste out of the waste receiving volume. A method of operating a waste collecting device is also disclosed.
EJECTOR FOR REFUSE VEHICLE
A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a cab supported on the chassis, and a body assembly supported on the chassis and arranged behind the cab. The body assembly includes a body, a hopper volume, a storage volume, a wall arranged between the hopper volume and the storage volume. The wall defines an opening that provides access between the hopper volume and the storage volume. The body assembly further includes a panel coupled to the wall so that the panel is movable between an open position where opening is uncovered and a closed position where the opening is covered by the panel.
