Short travel pusher plate stacking bin
A pusher plate stacking bin apparatus is provided for a valuable media depository. The apparatus comprising a pusher plate driven by a rack and pinion apparatus to stack a media item that is in a final position within the apparatus onto a media stacking platform. The media item is urged into the final position such that a trailing edge of the media item overhangs and rests on a fixed media guide and such that a leading edge of the media item overhangs and rests on a hinged media guide with a bottom surface of the media item elevated above the media stacking platform. The rack and pinion apparatus drives the plate past the media guides causing the hinged media guide to drop and the media item to fold along the leading edge as the media item is stacked onto the platform.
COVER FEEDER AND METHOD FOR SUPPLYING BOOK COVERS
A cover feeder for providing book covers to a production unit of a book completion line includes a first receiving device for book covers of the same format, which can be positioned individually, in an overlapping flow and/or in a stack thereon, and a second receiving device that is arranged upstream of the first receiving device for a stack of book covers having different formats. The cover feeder includes a control unit to which information can be transmitted relating to the format and sequence of book covers in the stack of book covers having different formats, and a laterally adjustable centering device connected to the control unit for a defined lateral displacement and/or aligning of respectively one book cover that is separated out from the second receiving device and is positioned on the first receiving device.

Method for providing a stack composed of book covers for book production
A method for providing a stack of book covers for production of finished books includes supplying a task stack of book covers having identical cover formats and stacked one above another in an unknown or known sequence. Each book cover in the task stack includes an identifier comprising cover information. The book covers are separated out and conveyed from the task stack as separate book covers in a sequence that does not change until a completion signal is transmitted. The separated out book covers are counted, an identifier on each separated out book cover is detected, and cover information is read out of the respective identifier stored. The separated out book covers are deposited on top of one another in the sequence in which they were separated out for forming a detected stack. An identifier is stored that identifies the detected stack together with the temporarily stored cover information.

Paper sheet handling device
A paper sheet handling device that facilitates removal of paper sheets blocked on a conveying path. The device includes a safe casing internally provided with a paper sheet storage box; a processing unit capable of being pulled out from, or stowed in, a main device; a conveying section coupled to the processing unit, and that forms a conveying path; a handover section coupled to a top plate of the safe casing to hand over the sheets between the storage box and the conveying path; and a positioning section that positions for connecting the handover section and the conveying path together when the processing unit is being stowed in the main device.
CONVEYANCE CONTROL DEVICE AND CONVEYANCE CONTROL METHOD
A conveyance control unit is provided with a conveyance request unit configured to transmit a conveyance request signal to a paper conveyance device at a conveyance request timing corresponding to a processing cycle of a downstream paper processing device, a passage information reception unit configured to receive a paper passage signal indicating that paper has been sent out from the paper conveyance device, and the determination unit configured to determine whether a conveyance delay has occurred based on timing when the paper passage signal was received. The conveyance request unit is configured to transmit the conveyance request signal at the conveyance request timing corresponding to the next processing cycle when it is determined that a conveyance delay has not occurred, and the conveyance request unit is configured not to transmit the conveyance request signal at the conveyance request timing corresponding to the next processing cycle when it is determined that a conveyance delay has occurred.
