SCREENING DEVICE HAVING PIVOTABLE SCREENING PANELS
A screening device having screening panels which are oriented transversely to the flow direction of a stream of liquid and each have a screening surface and form a circulating continuous screening belt which can be immersed in the stream of liquid. The successive screening panels form a common screening surface in the sluice channel, wherein the circulatory motion of the continuous screening belt is kept substantially completely within a single plane. The pivot axes about which the screening panels are pivoted at return points of the continuous screening belt are perpendicular to the common screening surface. The screening surfaces of the screening panels have a plurality of recesses and/or elevations running adjacent to one another over the screening surface.

DISC FILTERS AND METHODS OF OPERATING DISC FILTERS
Disclosed herein are disc filters for dewatering a fiber suspension. According to a first aspect, the disc filter includes a vessel comprising an inlet positioned in a wall of the vessel, the inlet introducing a fiber suspension into the vessel. The disc filter further includes a rotor shaft comprising a shaft axis of rotation positioned in a shaft plane, wherein the shaft plane is a horizontal plane. At least one filter element may be coupled to the rotor shaft. At least one injector may be positioned in the wall of the vessel, the at least one injector introducing a secondary flow of liquid into the vessel. The at least one injector may be located in the wall of the vessel at an injector elevation angle ?.sub.I that is greater than ?44 degrees and less than or equal to +22 degrees relative to the shaft plane.
System and method for cleaning and sterilizing a water flow
A system for cleaning and sterilizing a water flow comprises a main treatment line with a pump to pump water from a water storage, a main filter, a sterilizing station and a system outlet. The main filter is provided with a first filter element and a backflush member to rinse the first filter element with backflush water. The secondary treatment line connects to an outlet of the backflush member, and has a backflush filter to remove silt from the backflush water. The main filter is designed such that the pressure difference over the first filter element is at least 0.1 bar (10 kPa) and the backflush filter is designed such that the pressure difference over the backflush filter element is less than 0.05 bar (5 kPa).
Rotary drum screen method for thin stillage filtration
A rotating drum screen method for separating solids from thin stillage obtained from ethanol fermentation, the thin stillage comprising one or more of solids and suspended solids. Thin stillage is chemically treated with an anionic polymer to form stable particles of one or more of solids and suspended solids. Introducing the treated thin stillage into a rotating drum screen system. The drum screen includes a filter screen that retains at least a portion of the solids within a hollow portion of the drum screen and which produces a liquid effluent that is discharged from an outer surface of the drum screen. The retained solids are removable from the drum screen via a solid discharge end. A head box is disposed within the hollow portion of the drum screen and has a plurality of fluid flow channel dividers dividing and directing an influent stream outwardly against the drum screen.
FILTER SCRAPER
A filter apparatus and method for cleaning filter elements. The filter elements, each including a filter body with an external surface enclosing a filter passage, extend along a longitudinal axis of a vessel housing. A scraper element is disposed about the external surface of each filter body and travels along the longitudinal length of the filter body via a rotational screw to remove deposits. A lower air inlet is included on the vessel to loosen deposits on the filter surfaces, such as during or prior to scraping.
Device for separating a medium comprising a mixture of a solid portion and a fluid portion
A device is for separating a medium comprising a mixture of a solid portion and a fluid portion. The device has a filter arrangement with a displaceable filter element having a plurality of openings that allow the fluid to be disposed through the openings while maintaining the solid portion on the filter element. The device further has an inlet for feeding the medium to the filter element and an outlet for discharging the solid portion from the filter element after that the fluid has been separated from the solid portion. The device further has an obstruction has an elastic element extending towards a surface of the filter element and adapted to contact the surface while allowing the medium to be displaced from the inlet to the outlet.
