System and method for optimized operation of flue gas desulfurization unit
A method (200) for desulfurization of a flue gas in a desulfurization unit of an industrial plant, includes receiving (202) a plurality of baseline parameters corresponding to the desulfurization unit of the industrial plant. The method further includes measuring (204), using a stack sensor, an emission value of sulfur oxides in the flue gas. The method also includes estimating (208), using a controller, a desirable value of a slurry parameter for desulfurization of the flue gas based on the measured emission value of the sulfur oxides. The method further includes determining (208), using the controller, at least one desulfurization parameter based on the desirable value of the slurry parameter. The method also includes controlling (210), using the controller, operation of the desulfurization unit based on the at least one desulfurization parameter to modify consumption of at least one of a slurry and an auxiliary power in the industrial plant.

An apparatus for treating the atmosphere of a storage space for vegetable products with a volume greater than 200 m.sup.3, includes a contacting device having a packing; an injector configured to inject a liquid flow into the contacting device; and a circulator configured to circulate the storage atmosphere in the contacting device. The contacting device is configured such that the storage atmosphere is brought into contact with the liquid flow by circulation in the packing.
INTEGRATED DEVICE FOR ADSORPTIVE PURIFICATION AND CATALYTIC REGENERATION OF VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS
The integrated device for adsorptive purification and catalytic regeneration of VOCs is provided and includes a filtration adsorption coupling filter, a catalytic combustion regeneration box and a housing, where the housing includes a filter inner cavity and a combustion inner cavity that are communicated in sequence. The VOC exhaust gas is adsorbed and filtered by the filtration adsorption coupling filter. Moreover, under an operating condition of desorption regeneration, the catalytic combustion regeneration box is utilized to perform thermal desorption and regeneration on the filtration adsorption coupling filter, and catalytically combust and purify the VOC exhaust gas obtained by thermal desorption.
PLANT AND METHOD FOR CARRYING OUT AN ENDOTHERMIC CHEMICAL PROCESS AND FOR SEPARATING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM FLUE GAS PRODUCED IN THE PROCESS
The plant according to the invention includes a reactor including a combustion chamber in which a fuel is fired with an oxidant to form a carbon dioxide-containing flue gas stream. The plant also includes a waste heat recovery unit in fluid connection with the combustion chamber, configured to capture heat from the flue gas stream. The plant also includes a flue gas compression unit in fluid connection with the waste heat recovery unit, configured to increase the pressure of the flue gas stream. The plant also includes a scrubber in fluid connection with the flue gas compression unit, configured to remove sulphur oxides and/or nitrogen oxides from the flue gas stream and to cool flue gas stream by means of the scrubbing medium. The plant also includes an absorption unit in fluid connection with the scrubber, configured to absorb carbon dioxide from the flue gas stream.
EFFICIENT USE OF ADSORBENTS FOR INDOOR AIR SCRUBBING
Some embodiments of the disclosure correspond to, for example, a method for controlling a scrubber containing an adsorbent. The scrubber may be configured to cycle between scrubbing at least one pollutant/gas from a stream of gases with the pollutant/gas being adsorbed onto the adsorbent, and regenerating at least some of the adsorbent and thereby purging at least some of the one pollutant and/or first gas from the adsorbent via a regeneration gas flow. The method may include flowing a stream of gases through the scrubber, the scrubber including the adsorbent and adsorbing at least some of the one pollutant/gas from the stream of gases onto the adsorbent during an adsorption phase over a first time period. The method may also include purging at least a portion of the one pollutant/ gas from the adsorbent during a regeneration phase over a second time period with a regeneration gas flow, and cycling therebetween. Some other embodiments of the disclosure, for example, include an air treatment assembly which includes an adsorbent for adsorbing at least on pollutant/gas from a flow of air in one direction, and purging at least some of the adsorbed pollut -ant/gas from the adsorbent with a regeneration air flow to regenerate the adsorbent.
METHANOTROPHIC BIO-BARRIERS FOR REDUCING METHANE EMISSIONS
A bio-barrier for reducing combustible gas emissions from the ground into the atmosphere is disclosed. The bio-barrier includes a geocomposite layer extending laterally beneath a top surface of the ground and a first geotextile layer extending laterally beneath the top surface of the ground and positioned above the geocomposite layer. The geocomposite layer and the geotextile layer configured to laterally disperse the combustible gas through at least the geotextile layer. In addition, at least one sensor may be positioned beneath the top surface of the ground and in or above the geocomposite layer, the at least one sensor measuring a parameter indicative of the concentration or oxidation of the combustible gas beneath the top surface of the ground.
Ammonia desulphurization and oxidation apparatus and method
An efficient ammonia desulphurization and oxidation apparatus includes a desulphurization tower, where spray layers in multiple stages and a tower reactor are sequentially arranged in the desulphurization tower; a first gas-liquid distribution plate, a second gas-liquid distribution plate, and a third gas-liquid distribution plate are sequentially arranged in the tower reactor; an ammonia distribution zone is formed between the first and second gas-liquid distribution plates, and an ammonia water distributor is further arranged between the first gas-liquid distribution plate and the second gas-liquid distribution plate in the ammonia distribution zone; an absorption zone is formed between the second and third gas-liquid distribution plates; an oxidation zone is formed between the third gas-liquid distribution plate and a bottom of the tower; in the oxidation zone, oxidizing air distributors in multiple stages are arranged at a lower side of the third gas-liquid plate.
OZONE SCRUBBER AND OZONE SCRUBBING METHOD
Method to scrub ozone in an ozone scrubber comprising a gas-liquid contactor adapted to bring a reducing liquid in contact with an inlet gas comprising ozone, the method comprising the steps of: supplying the inlet gas to the gas-liquid contactor, supplying fresh reducing liquid to the gas-liquid contactor, the fresh reducing liquid comprising an aqueous solution of a reducing agent, scrubbing ozone of the inlet gas by a reduction reaction with the reducing liquid under acidic pH conditions.
CONVERTING GASEOUS CARBON COMPOUNDS TO CARBON NEUTRAL OR NEGATIVE PRODUCTS
Gaseous carbon compounds can be converted to carbon neutral or negative products using biological processes to metabolise the gaseous carbon compounds or use thermochemical processes to convert gaseous carbon compounds to syngas followed by thermochemical or biological processes to produce products. The gaseous carbon compounds include a mixture of CO2 and CH4 from either a single source, or two or more different sources. Separate biological processes are incorporated to process different gaseous carbon compounds. A gaseous carbon compound produced as a by-product of one biological process can be used as at least part of the feedstock for another process. A renewable energy system can be provided to power equipment. A control system can be used to control flow of gaseous carbon compounds and reactants entering the entire carbon processing systems to provide mass balanced quantities of gaseous carbon compounds and reactants in each processing system and/or between processing systems.

Inside the housing is a circulating manifold, at least one tray, at least one air inlet, at least one air outflow, and a plurality of interaction surfaces comprising a plurality of different surfaces slanted at different angles, said plurality of interaction surfaces configured to receive the biological agent.
