SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOVING VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FROM PROCESS GASSES
A VOC removal system removes VOCs from an exhaust fluid of a semiconductor process. The VOC removal system measures current VOC removal parameters and passes them to an analysis model trained with a machine learning process. The analysis model predicts a future VOC removal efficiency based on the current VOC removal parameters. The analysis model generates adjustment parameters based on the current VOC removal parameters and the predicted future VOC removal efficiency. A control system adjusts the VOC removal system based on the adjustment parameters.
CAPTURING ATMOSPHERIC GAS WITH A DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM
Deleterious gas is captured from atmospheric air using capture units dispersed across a geographic region. Each unit has a filter that is capable of capturing compounds from the gas from air when air is passed through the filter by fans. The units additionally include a sensor for sensing a level of the gas in the air. An electronic processor controls the fan, and communicates data from the sensor to other units and/or a central electronic processor. The electronic processors of the units or the central processor controls the fan speed of units in areas of higher concentration of the gas, selecting which units to become active based upon a proximity of each unit to the gas concentration, as well as a direction of movement of the concentration. A communicated presence of errors or a low battery state of a unit, is used by the processor to select other units nearby for operation instead of the affected unit.
Porous cyclodextrin polymeric materials and methods of making and using same
A nucleophilic substitution reaction to crosslink cyclodextrin (CD) polymer with rigid aromatic groups, providing a high surface area, mesoporous CD-containing polymers (P-CDPs). The P-CDPs can be used for removing organic contaminants from water. By encapsulating pollutants to form well-defined host-guest complexes with complementary selectivities to activated carbon (AC) sorbents. The P-CDPs can rapidly sequester pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and other organic micropollutants, achieving equilibrium binding capacity in seconds with adsorption rate constants 15-200 times greater than ACs and nonporous CD sorbents. The CD polymer can be regenerated several times, through a room temperature washing procedure, with no loss in performance.
Recyclable ceramic catalyst filter, filtering system including the same, and method of managing the filtering system
A recyclable ceramic catalyst filter, a filtering system including the same, and a method of managing the filtering system are provided. The ceramic catalyst filter has a monolithic structure including a first surface which blocks a first material; and a second surface which removes a second material that passed through the first surface, where the second surface is activated and operates as a catalyst layer which removes the second material in response to energy supplied to the second surface.

A method for preparing a nanoporous silica sol-gel matrix containing at least one amine reactant selected from hydroxylamine, methylhydroxylamine, tertbutylhydroxylamine, methoxyamine, tetraethylenepentamine, dicarboxylic acid dihydrazides, particularly adipic acid dihydrazide, and the salts thereof, said method including the following steps: a) synthesising a gel from tetramethoxysilane or from a mixture of tetramethoxysilane and another organosilicon precursor selected from among phenyltrimethoxysilane, phenyltriethoxysilane, a fluoroalkyltrimethoxysilane, a fluoroalkyltriethoxysilane, a chloroalkylmethoxysilane, a chloroalkylethoxysilane, an alkyltrimethoxysilane, an alkyltriethoxysilane, an aminopropyltriethoxysilane and the mixtures thereof, the synthesis being performed in an aqueous medium at a temperature ranging from 10 to 70° C. in the presence of at least one amine reactant selected from among hydroxylamine, methylhydroxylamine, tertbutylhydroxylamine, methoxyamine, dicarboxylic acid dihydrazides, particularly adipic acid dihydrazide, and the salts thereof; b) drying the gel obtained during step a) so as to obtain a sol-gel matrix containing at least one amine reactant.
SILOXANE REMOVAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems for and methods of treating a fluid containing siloxanes, silanes and/or other silicon compounds. A hot box is configured to receive an initial flow of the fluid, react the flow with water at a temperature and pressure suitable for hydrolysis to generate a first treated flow, in which at least a portion is hydrolyzed to produce silicon dioxide and methane, and discharge the first treated flow. A solid removal mechanism can be configured to receive the first treated flow, separate at least a portion of the silicon dioxide as solid material, and discharge the remaining components as a second treated flow. Techniques of the present disclosure can lead to very low siloxane levels.
