Crutch
10532001 · 2020-01-14 · ·

Embodiments of crutches are disclosed. A crutch has a main body having a substantially vertical tubular member with a plurality of apertures formed therein; an angled portion extending upwardly from the substantially vertical tubular member; an arm rest support extending perpendicularly from the angled portion for receiving an arm rest; and a handle extending outwardly from the arm rest support. The crutch further includes a leg telescopically received into the substantially vertical tubular member, and a foot exchangably received by the leg.

WALKING ASSIST DEVICE

A walking assist device has a frame, a pair of right and left arm portions, a pair of right and left grasp portions, wheels including a pair of right and left drive wheels, drive units, a battery, a drive control unit, acting force measurement units that measure acting forces on the grasp portions, and holding units that hold the grasp portions at a predetermined position in the front-rear direction of the arm portions set in advance. The walking assist device travels forward together with a user. The holding units generate a restoring force for returning the grasp portions to the predetermined position. The drive control unit controls the drive units on the basis of acting forces calculated on the basis of detection signals from the acting force measurement units.

TORSO BAR WALKER
20190388293 · 2019-12-26 · ·

A mobility aid includes two side frames, each configured for contact with a hand or forearm of associated user; an interconnecting frame member; two or more wheels; one or two adjustable torso bars attached to side frames, and each variably including a posterior member for maintaining consistent contact of torso with the anterior member. Flexed posturing and abnormal lower body biomechanics are common with use of wheeled walking aids managed by the upper body. Users typically excessively push down and forward to advance device. The novel body engaging member(s) enable the presented device to be advanced by torso contact as the user walks. Upper body weight bearing is thereby minimized. Propulsion is enhanced as user advances the pelvis against the torso bar(s). Posture is improved and safety is increased. A walker is provided for users requiring, or training to achieve, light upper body support.

Mobility assistance device

Devices and methods for mobility assistance are disclosed. The disclosed features may assist a person with movement by providing support for the person as the person moves. Further, features for easily storing and transporting items in various compartments of the device are disclosed. Support of the user and/or items may be provided by a lightweight composite structure that further allows for free movement of the user, such as taking full strides while walking or running. The device may further be repeatedly configured between collapsed and deployed configurations via a locking mechanism and an actuatable release. Pivotable joints allow the various sections to be stowed into a smaller, collapsed configuration that is easily carried or otherwise transported, as well as deployed into a larger, deployed configuration for assistance while moving.

WRAP AROUND WALKING AID
20240050303 · 2024-02-15 · ·

A walking aid that assists a user in walking in an upright position. The walking aid may include a rear lower frame structure, a front lower frame structure, a first front wheel coupled to a first front lower frame member, a second front wheel coupled to a second front lower frame member, a first rear wheel coupled to the first rear lower frame member, a second rear wheel coupled to the second rear lower frame member, an upper frame structure comprising a first upper frame member, a second upper frame member, a first forearm support, and a second forearm support, a first pivot and latch mechanism pivotally coupling the first upper frame member and the first rear lower frame member together, and a second pivot and latch mechanism pivotally coupling the second upper frame member and the second rear lower frame member together.

Reclined crutch

A reclined forearm crutch includes a leg; and a cradle attached to the leg for supporting the forearm and elbow of a use. The cradle has a bounding surface area corresponding to at least 20 in.sup.2. The cradle is angled about 5 to about 50 degrees relative to vertical.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL SMART MOBILITY AID DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
20190328282 · 2019-10-31 ·

Embodiments of a smart mobility aid device may have sensors to collect, monitor, analyze and represent data including but not limited to activity tracking, biometrics and safety and emergency features. The activity tracking include number of steps, miles, and activity speed, user pressure on a device, activity types and analysis. The user biometric data includes but is not limited to blood work, blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, oxygen level/rate, ECG, EMG, muscle strain, humidity, UV, body temperature. Additional features include an emergency button, fall detection, warnings, and user pattern analysis changes. The mobility aid device is connected to other smart electronic devices and/or the Internet using but not limited to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and or/and SIM card. The device gives the user or/and caregiver live feedback about user health metrics and status using a data representation method.

Recognition method of human walking speed intention from surface electromyogram signals of plantar flexor and walking speed control method of a lower-limb exoskeleton robot

A walk assist robot for lower body walking of a walking trainee, including a joint angle signal measurement unit disposed on a joint of the walking trainee, an electromyogram (EMG) signal measurement unit disposed on a muscle related to ankle joint extension of the walking trainee, a plantar pressure signal measurement unit disposed on a sole of the walking trainee, and a control unit to recognize signals measured from the joint angle signal measurement unit, the EMG signal measurement unit and the plantar pressure signal measurement unit and process the signals to recognize a walking speed intention of the walking trainee, wherein the control unit controls a walking speed of the walk assist robot from the walking speed intention of the walking trainee.

Wheeled walker with a moveable seat

A collapsible wheeled walker with two side frames and two height adjustable upper body supports. The apparatus includes a seat that is slidably attached to the two side frames and is movable between a front position to facilitate an ample walking space inside the frames and a rear position for a user to sit. The apparatus may include an X-folder that facilitates collapsing the walker to a small footprint for storage and transportation. It may also include a left forearm gutter and a right forearm gutter as part of the upper body supports that give the user an upright walking posture for health benefits.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING SYNCHRONIZED MOVEMENTS OF A POWERED WHEELCHAIR AND AN EXOSKELETON

Embodiments herein are directed to a system that includes a powered wheelchair, a user-worn exoskeleton, and a master controller. The master controller monitors the independent movements of the powered wheelchair and the user-worn exoskeleton. The master controller prioritizes the movement of the powered wheelchair and the user-worn exoskeleton such that only one of the powered wheelchair or the user-worn exoskeleton will have the priority to complete the intended movement. The master controller may coordinate movements between the powered wheelchair and the user-worn exoskeleton so to perform a plurality of predetermined programs. For example, assisting a user to sit within the powered wheelchair, to assist a user to stand from a seating position when outside of the powered wheelchair, and/or use the powered wheelchair as a guide for walking.
