The dispenser module also includes a central valve body attached to the nozzle body that defines a piston chamber and a valve member having a piston portion disposed within the piston chamber of the central valve body and a needle portion extending form the piston portion into the chamber of the nozzle body. The dispenser further includes a heater block for heating the nozzle body. The heater block defines a liquid passage for transporting liquid from the liquid supply to the dispenser, a first surface of the heater block directly contacts the nozzle body, and the entirety of the central valve body is spaced from the heater block.
Melt system including a melt unit with a side-loading hopper
A melt system that includes a melt unit. The melt unit includes a reservoir and a melt grid disposed above the reservoir. The melt grid is configured to expose solid polymer to a temperature sufficient to form a molten polymer and to deposit the molten polymer into the reservoir. The melt unit includes at least one hopper for holding a supply of the solid polymer. The melt unit includes a thermal isolation region disposed below the hopper to thermally isolate the hopper from the molten polymer in the reservoir.
Fluid pressure-feed device
A fluid pressure-feed device includes a main tank and a sub tank. The sub tank is connected integrally with an upper portion of a main follower plate that applies pressurizing force to a urethane adhesive inside the main tank. A drum pump is provided in an upper portion of a sub follower plate provided in the sub tank. While the urethane adhesive is flowing into the sub tank from the main tank, the urethane adhesive is fed under pressure from the sub tank to a fluid passage by actuation of the drum pump. While the main tank is being replaced, the urethane adhesive inside the sub tank is fed under pressure to the fluid passage by the drum pump.
Device for intermittently applying a flowable substance, and method for applying such a substance
A device for intermittently applying a flowable substance to a substrate includes an applicator nozzle for applying the flowable substance to the substrate, a tank for holding the flowable substance, a pump for delivering the substance, wherein the pump is actively connected to the tank, and further including an actuator actively connected to the pump and transferred into two positions, in a first position the actuator conducts the substance to the applicator nozzle, and in a second position the actuator blocks the feed to the applicator nozzle, and further including a control device for activating the actuator and for regulating the speed of the pump. A method for applying the substance using the device is also provided.
Print head having a temperature-control device
The disclosure relates to an application device for applying an application medium onto a component, preferably for application of a coating onto a motor vehicle body component. The application device includes a print head for preferably serial and/or permanent application of the application medium, wherein the print head has: a nozzle plate, at least one nozzle in the nozzle plate in order to discharge the application medium, at least one valve element, which is movable relative to the nozzle plate, for control of the application medium discharge through the at least one nozzle, wherein the at least one movable valve element closes the at least one nozzle in a closing position and releases it in an opening position, and at least one drive for moving the at least one valve element. The application device is characterised in particular in that it includes at least one temperature control apparatus for reducing heating of the at least one drive during application of the application medium.
Hot melt adhesive distribution system
A distribution system for storing and conveying a supply of material is described. The distribution system includes a bin for storing and conveying a supply of material. The bin includes a housing defining an internal chamber configured to receive the material, at least one outlet configured to direct the material from the bin, a plate defining a lower end of the internal chamber and supporting and directing the material to the at least one outlet, an agitation device attached to the plate, and a gasket disposed between the plate and the housing.
APPLICATOR WITH AT LEAST ONE PUMP HAVING THERMAL BARRIER AND ACTIVE COOLING
In one example, a pump assembly configured to connect to a manifold of an applicator includes a pump, a drive motor unit, and a thermal isolation region. The drive motor unit includes an output drive shaft connected to the pump and a drive motor configured to rotate the output drive shaft about a drive axis. The thermal isolation region is between the pump and the drive motor. The thermal isolation region includes an isolation plate and a thermal isolation frame. In one example, a cooling sleeve surrounds a proximal end portion of the drive motor unit so as to define an air flow passage between the proximal end portion of the drive motor unit and an inner surface of the cooling sleeve. In one example, the pump assembly further includes a coupling operatively connecting the pump and the drive shaft, the coupling including an insulating element therein.
SEALANT DISPENSING SYSTEM
The following disclosure relates to portable systems for dispensing crack sealant and associated devices and methods. The systems and methods described herein may overcome operational inconveniences exhibited by existing systems and may facilitate the operation of such systems. In one embodiment, a walk-behind sealant dispensing system comprises a housing, a kettle disposed inside the housing for holding and dispensing sealant, and a poppet valve actuatable between a closed state and an open state to selectively cause sealant to be dispensed from the kettle. The poppet valve includes a valve body and a flange extending outwardly from the valve body. The flange includes a fastener hole formed therethrough. The poppet valve is attached to the housing via a fastener extending through the fastener hole and engaged with the housing.
ADHESIVE DISPENSING SYSTEM WITH CONVERTIBLE NOZZLE ASSEMBLIES
