METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A HALF-SHELL PART

The invention relates to a method for producing a half-shell part with a drawing punch and a drawing die. The object of providing a method for the process-reliable and cost-effective production of highly dimensionally stable half-shell parts is achieved in that, in a single work step, the drawing punch is advanced into the drawing die, a sheet metal blank is preformed into a sheet metal raw part with at least one base section, at least one frame section and optionally a flange section, wherein during the preforming with the drawing punch a material excess is introduced either into the base section and the frame section or into the optional flange section of the sheet metal raw part, and the sheet metal raw part is finished to form a half-shell part and calibrated.

Press forming method

A press forming process forms a blank, which is the material to be pressed, into a product having a predetermined shape including a continuous hat-shaped section in the longitudinal direction and a curved portion protruding toward the top surface side in the longitudinal direction. In the press forming process, an intermediate product which has an excess thickness portion formed at a part of the curved portion of the product and protruding higher than the top surface of the product is formed while constraining the portion of the intermediate product other than the excess thickness portion until the excess thickness portion projects in a direction opposite to the protrusion direction thereof, whereby the intermediate product is formed into a predetermined shape.

Press forming method

A press forming process forms a blank, which is the material to be pressed, into a product having a predetermined shape including a continuous hat-shaped section in the longitudinal direction and a curved portion protruding toward the top surface side in the longitudinal direction. In the press forming process, an intermediate product which has an excess thickness portion formed at a part of the curved portion of the product and protruding higher than the top surface of the product is formed while constraining the portion of the intermediate product other than the excess thickness portion until the excess thickness portion projects in a direction opposite to the protrusion direction thereof, whereby the intermediate product is formed into a predetermined shape.

The metal stock sheet is moved in the direction toward the blank holder while the metal stock sheet being pressed and clamped, and a vertical wall portion at the outside of the L shaped curve of the L shaped hat shaped cross-section and the flange portion joined to the vertical wall at the outside of the L shaped curve are molded.

Provided are a press forming method capable of improving material yield while avoiding the risk of dimensional error increase at product forming sections in blank material when carrying out press forming, and a plate material expansion device used in this method. An end side of plate material for press forming is restricted by blank holding rollers, and pressure is applied to a middle location in the part that is restricted by a pressure roller. In this state, the plate material is transported in a rotating direction of the rollers being driven to continuously bend and extend the section receiving pressure. This bent and extended section is flattened with a flattening roller to obtain blank material wherein an end part is expanded.
