Box top opener
A box top opener employs a trapezoidal ceramic blade having a cutting edge which is positionable at multiple positions. A knob is rotatable to extend and retract the blade. A guide projects from a front of the cutter body to provide a guide surface engageable against the top of a box. In one embodiment, a blade carrier has a follower which traverses a spiral track for displacing the blade.
Utility instrument and a method of using same
A utility instrument is in the form of a cutting tool suitable for fitting onto a user's finger. The tool has a blade and a sheath, both coupled to a mounting structure. The blade and sheath are pivotable with respect to each other. A user can wear the tool on a finger about a finger joint. The user can bend the finger to set the tool to an open condition to expose the blade for use, and can stretching the finger to set the tool to a closed condition to safely shade the blade using the sheath. The tool may further have a housing for fully receiving the blade. The blade may extend out of the housing for use, and may be retracted into the housing for safety.
Utility knife
A utility knife has a housing in which a particle flow cross section is substantially constant or increases in a flow direction of particles from an inlet of the housing into an interior of the housing at an end of the housing to an outlet of the housing. A blade assembly has a blade with a cutting edge and is movable relative to the housing between a stowed position and an operating position for a cutting operation. A first actuating part and a second actuating part mounted movable relative to the first actuating part move of the blade assembly between the stowed and operating positions. First and second slotted links form a four-point linkage with the first and second actuating parts.
AUTOMATICALLY RETRACTING SCRAPER WITH BLADE STOP
An auto-retract scraper is described herein. The auto-retract scrape comprises a housing, a slider, a blade, a rotating hard stop, and a torsion spring. The rotating hard stop is rotated clockwise forcing the blade forward and out of the housing when the slider is engaged.
Safety cutting device
A safety cutting device includes a slidable insert that moves longitudinally within a cavity of a housing. The slidable insert has a cutting blade attached and moves within the housing from a safe position in which the blade is covered to an exposed position for cutting. The safety device has a release button positioned near an anterior end of the housing. A biasing member automatically retracts the blade when the release button is activated.
MAGNETIC LOCKING UTILITY KNIFE
A utility tool device including a handle with a tool recess and a lever arm recess; a rotatable lever arm with a magnet that is configured to fit in the lever arm recess; and a rotatable lever hinge attached to the lever arm and configured to attach to a tool; wherein the tool recess is configured to have a tool fit in the tool recess; and wherein the magnet is configured to lock a tool in place when the lever arm is in the lever arm recess.
Retractable utility knife
A utility knife configured with a retractable cutting blade that is extended and retracted by a blade actuation mechanism. The blade actuation mechanism employs a blade trigger assembly and a blade carriage assembly that are operably connected in variety of configurations. Certain configurations of the blade actuation mechanism utilize a rack-and-pinion arrangement between the blade trigger assembly and the blade carriage assembly, which enables the automatic retraction of the cutting blade as the cutting blade is lifted from the cutting surface.
Illuminated Tool Device
The present invention relates to improvements in the field of tools, such as utility knives. The tool features a battery powered illumination element that allows the user to illuminate the working surface and working edge. This enhances working with a tool or utility knife in conditions where there is inadequate light. The user can press a button on the handle to activate or deactivate the light without deploying the blade, and the batteries that power the light may be replaced or recharged as needed.
Reciprocating Knife Assembly
The present invention is a reciprocating culinary knife assembly. The assembly is battery operated and operates a steak knife in reciprocating fashion. An ergonomic, oversized handle portion is designed for users with arthritis or other debilitating conditions that render handling small implements difficult. A single removable battery pack is contained within a battery chamber formed at one end of the housing for the assembly; the pack designed for easy snap fit within the chamber. The housing is made of a rigid material which is covered with a pliable material such as rubber or silicon to enhance gripping and further reduce discomfort. A pressure-sensing mechanism operates as an on/off switch to enhance user safety.
Knife
A knife has a first part and a second part movably engaged to the first part along a path between an open position in which a housing interior is accessible and a closed position. A holding surface is fixed on and jointly slidable with the second part, and a third part is fixable on the first part, An actuator is movable on the second part between an actuated position and an unactuated position. An arm integral with or fixed on the third part is operatively engaged by the actuator and displaced on movement of the actuator between the unactuated position and the actuated position between a locking position securing the second part in one of the open and closed positions and a release position.
