Machine for cutting to size rolls of predefined length from logs with a greater length
Machine for cutting to size rolls with a defined length from logs having a greater length using a conveyor belts to drive the log to a cutting blade. Photocells are used to determine the length of the longs and to assist with the overall workings of the machine.
Finished products formed from cutting convolutely wound logs of web materials
Described herein is an array of finished products, each finished product in the array having a length relative error of less than 0.81% of a target length, H is disclosed. The finished products, which may be toilet paper and kitchen towels, are formed from transversally cutting elongate logs of convolutely wound web materials.
SYRINGE CUTTER
Device for cutting a syringe having a barrel with a flange at a proximal end thereof, the barrel containing a liquid, a plunger provided in the barrel and sealing the liquid specimen therein, said cutting device comprising: a jig for supporting a syringe, the jig including a proximal wall and a distal wall, a first through-hole defined in the proximal wall and a second through-hole defined in the distal wall; wherein the first and second through-holes are coaxially aligned and are sized to closely approximate the barrel; the first through-hole including a counter bore such that a distal end of the first through-hole closely approximates the barrel and a proximal end of the first through-hole closely approximates the syringe flange; a blade pivotably supported between the proximal and distal walls; wherein the blade cuts the proximal end of the syringe with the flanges without contaminating the liquid within the barrel.
Facer for end fusion of polyolefin pipes
A facer facing the ends of polyolefin pipes for butt fusion is modular in the sense that it employs three types of modules, a drive unit, two blade holders and a motor assembly, that are separable from one another and each independently light enough to be hand-lifted along walls and up to ceilings. The drive unit module is adjustable to accommodate different guide rail spacings. The blade holder modules are interchangeable to accommodate different diameters of pipe. The motor assembly module has multispeed capability to accommodate the total area of material to be faced. Each module can be exchanged or modified without use of tools to change the geometry of the assembled facer to accommodate different fusion machines and/or diameters of pipe within working spaces dictated by the diameter of the pipe and not by a fixed geometry of a facer.
Apparatus for slabbing rolls of tissue
An unlaid slabbing apparatus capable of profiling a roll of tissue material by determining the diameter, circumference, and weight of the roll. The slabbing apparatus calculates the amount of material to be removed based on operator input and predetermined parameters of weight, diameter, and density.
Tube cutter with automatically feeding function and with enhanced torque
A tube cutter includes a main body, a holder slidably mounted on the main body, a guide bolt rotatably mounted on the main body and locked onto a lower portion of the holder to drive and move the holder forward or backward by rotation of the guide bolt, and a driving handle removably mounted on the guide bolt to drive and rotate the guide bolt, and to enhance the torque of the tube cutter.
Method and apparatus for recycling cigarette waste
Disclosed herein are methods and apparatus for recycling cigarette waste, so that the reusable material (e.g., cellulose acetate, CA) in the cigarette waste may be isolated and reused. The cigarette waste is composed of a filter and a non-filter part. The apparatus includes at least, an adjusting unit and a treatment unit, respectively coupled to each other via a conveying member. The adjusting unit is configured to adjust the orientation of each cigarette so that each cigarette is aligned in sequence with the same orientation. The treatment unit is configured to cut out the non-filter part of each cigarette, and physically separating CA from the remaining part of the filter of each cigarette. Also disclosed herein is a method of recycling cigarette waste by use of the present apparatus.
GRINDING UNIT FOR CUTTING MACHINE AND MACHINE COMPRISING SAID UNIT
The grinding unit includes at least one grinding wheel adapted to rotate around a respective rotation axis, and a thrust actuator adapted to push the grinding wheel against a cutting edge of a disc-shaped cutting blade. A load cell is also provided for detecting an axial thrust exerted on the grinding wheel.
CUTTING MACHINE FOR CUTTING ELONGATED PRODUCTS, AND RELATED METHOD
The cutting machine includes at least one feed path for elongated products, wherein the elongated products move forward along a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal extension thereof. The cutting machine includes a rotating unit adapted to rotate around a rotation axis, carrying at least one first disc-shaped cutting blade and one second disc-shaped cutting blade. The rotation of the rotating unit causes an orbital movement of the first disc-shaped cutting blade and of the second disc-shaped cutting blade along trajectories intersecting the product feed path. The first disc-shaped cutting blade and the second disc-shaped cutting blade are offset from each other in a direction parallel to the product feed path. The first disc-shaped cutting blade and the second disc-shaped cutting blade are also angularly offset from each other with respect to the rotation axis of the rotating unit.
TUBE CUTTER
A tube cutter includes a handle, a carrier, a circular knife, a knob, a threaded rod and a spring. The handle includes an aperture. The carrier is movably connected to the handle, and includes a screw hole. The circular knife is supported on the carrier. The knob is rotationally connected to the handle and includes a non-circular recess. The threaded rod includes a threaded section inserted in the screw hole, a shank inserted in the aperture, and a non-circular head inserted in the non-circular recess. The spring is compressed between the handle and the non-circular head to render the threaded rod smoothly movable relative to the handle.
