EXTRUSION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BLOWN FILM WITH INTEGRAL PROFILES
A system and method for extruding film with a thickened profile section. In some embodiments, the film forms bags with integral zipper profiles. Plastic film is extruded to form a tube. During extrusion, each thickened profile section is radiantly cooled in a preferential manner before thinner sections of the film freeze. A freezing control device includes at least one radiant cooling plate that is operatively aligned with a thickened profile section. The device also includes a cooling fluid recirculation system configured to maintain the plate at a temperature below the temperature of the extruded tube. The plate can be adjustably mounted on a base for positioning the plate at the desired orientation for cooling the thickened profile section of the tube.
Components for breathing circuits
An expiratory limb for a breathing circuit includes an enclosing wall defining a flexible singular expiratory flow passage between an inlet and an outlet and bounding the flexible singular expiratory flow passage and ambient air. The expiratory limb includes one or more regions of the enclosing wall that made from a material that allows passage of water vapor without allowing passage of liquid water, thereby forming a water vapor flow path from the flexible singular expiratory flow passage to the ambient air through the material. The expiratory limb is configured to allow diffusion of water vapor along the flexible singular expiratory flow passage and dry the flow of expiratory gases between the inlet and the outlet.
FOUR-BUBBLE EXTRUSION PROCESS FOR BLOWN POLYMER FILM
A multi-layer tubular film is co-extruded and cooled to form a first bubble, then collapsed, preheated and blown into a second bubble. The second bubble is further heated from outside to produce a decreasing temperature gradient from the outside surface of the film to the inside surface of the film. The outside surface of the film is hotter than the inside surface of the film and the inside surface of the f film is hot enough for re-blowing but sufficiently cool to avoid blocking. The film is then collapsed, blown into a third bubble and cooled to produce biaxially-oriented film, which is then collapsed, blown into a fourth bubble, heated and then cooled film to relieve stress and impart desired shrink properties to the film to produce ship-stable biaxially-oriented film.

Methods of Making a Film of Dynamically Vulcanized Thermoplastic Elastomeric Materials
Methods and systems for making a film made of dynamically vulcanized thermoplastic elastomeric material are provided herein. The subject methods and systems achieve dimensional stability of an elastic film by applying thermal treatment as part of the film making process and enhance the shrinkage of the film by intentionally with stretching the film while hot and freezing the film in the stretch. The systems and methods are useful in controlling shrinkage of DVA post film extrusion.

Specifically provided is a method for producing a polymer tube, containing a liquid therein and being sealed at constant intervals, the method including an extrusion step of continuously melt-extruding a polymer material through a die into at least one tube, while feeding a liquid into the tube to obtain at least one liquid-containing tube; and sealing step of discontinuously pressing the at least one liquid-containing tube between a pair of pressurizing members at constant intervals to cause pressure-bonding before the tube solidifies, while continuously taking up the extruded tube.
