Split ply tires and bead area monocomponents

An intermediate article of manufacture formed as a first stage bead area subassembly for a split ply pneumatic tire carcass is disclosed. The bead area subassembly has an annular bead core; a bead apex; a ply strip; and preferably a sidewall affixed to the ply strip. The subassembly is formed into a disk-shaped bead area monocomponent. The ply strip is wrapped about the bead core and the apex to form a ply turnup and both the ply strip and the ply turnup extend radially outwardly from the bead core. The bead area subassembly when formed into the disk-shaped bead area monocomponent is placed on an annular holder device.

Tire Cleaning System

A pneumatic tire includes: an annular-shaped tread portion extending in a tire circumferential direction; a pair of sidewall portions disposed on both sides of the tread portion; and a pair of bead portions disposed on an inner side in a tire radial direction of the sidewall portions; and a band-like sound absorbing member being adhered on an inner surface of the tread portion in the tire circumferential direction; wherein the band-like sound absorbing member has a plurality of cuts, and both terminals of the cuts terminate at an inner side of the band-like sound absorbing member.

BEAD APEX RUBBER-FORMING METHOD, AND BEAD APEX RUBBER-FORMING DEVICE

The present invention forms bead apex rubber with good precision on the outer circumferential surface of the bead core. A molding process, in which unvulcanized rubber is made to flow into a bead apex molding chamber that is surrounded by surfaces that include the outer circumferential surface of a circular bead core and the bead apex rubber is formed directly on the outer circumferential surface of the bead core that is rotating around the core axis, is provided. The molding process comprises: a tip forming step that forms the leading end of the bead apex rubber; a middle section forming step that sequentially forms the bead apex rubber to be continuous with the leading end; and a joining step to join the back end and the leading end of the bead apex rubber by inflowing the unvulcanized rubber therebetween.

PARAMETERIZED CONTINUOUS QUERY TEMPLATES

Techniques for managing parameterized continuous query templates are provided. In some examples, a continuous query may be generated based at least in part on one or more selections of one or more business logic templates and business event parameters associated with a user. The continuous query may also be configured to retrieve business event data of the user. In some examples, a service provider may receive selection of one or more business logic templates. The service provider may also receive the business event parameters associated with the user. The business event parameters may be received via the selected template. The continuous query may then be generated using the information received via the template.

Method of laser cleaning a tire inner surface, and a tire

The present invention is directed to a method of cleaning an innermost surface of a pneumatic tire, the surface having a residue deposited thereon, comprising the steps of: activating a laser to generate laser radiation; directing a pulse of laser radiation to impinge on an area of the innermost surface, the pulse of radiation having a pulse width and a fluence sufficient to remove at least part of the residue in the area to form a cleaned area; repeating the step of directing the pulse of radiation sequentially over the innermost surface to form a sequence of cleaned areas, the sequence of cleaned areas defining a stripe, the stripe following a continuous nonlinear path extending at least one circumference about the inner surface, the stripe having a stripe width W2. The invention is further directed to a tire made by the method.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RUBBER MEMBER

An apparatus of manufacturing a rubber member includes an extruder; a mouthpiece; and a support surface which faces the mouthpiece in an opposed manner. The support surface and the mouthpiece are moved relative to each other thus molding a rubber member on the support surface. The apparatus further includes: a rubber pool portion formed between the mouthpiece and the support surface; and a closing surface having an inclined surface shape and capable of closing a moving-direction front side of the rubber pool portion. A rubber material is ejected from an ejection port in a state where the rubber pool portion is closed by the closing surface, the support surface and the mouthpiece are moved relative to each other after the rubber pool portion is filled with the rubber material, and a lamination starting end of the rubber material is pressed to the closing surface thus molding the lamination starting end into an inclined surface and, thereafter, the closing surface is moved in a direction away from the support surface.

MOLDING ELEMENT FOR MANUFACTURING A NOISE REDUCING TREAD

The present disclosure provides a molding element for a mold used for manufacturing a tread of a tire having a plurality of contacting element, a plurality of grooves and a connecting member connecting two side faces of adjacent contacting elements, the molding element having a molding surface and a rib for forming the groove between adjacent contacting elements, at least two rib side faces, the rib having a notching portion, a guiding member made of a material different from a material of the molding element being received in the notching portion and has two opposite side faces and a top face, the material of the guiding member having a modulus at 10% elongation lower than that of the molding element, the guiding member having a guiding slit, the guiding member has a recessed area extending in a direction along the guiding slit on the top face and an outermost portion of the guiding slit is open in the recessed area.

Air barrier material application systems and methods

A method of applying an air barrier to an inner surface of a tire includes placing the tire in a tire trimming machine, rotating the tire in the tire trimming machine as a part of a tire trimming operation, and while performing the tire trimming operation spraying the air barrier material onto the inner surface of the tire.
