Printer
In a printer that performs printing on a label of a continuous paper while feeding the continuous paper unwound from a paper sheet supply unit to a side of a printing head portion via a damper portion, a head pressure plate is arranged between an operating portion that adjusts a pressing force against a thermal head portion and a printing line of the thermal head portion such that the head pressure plate is formed extended to connect them.

PRINTER APPARATUS
A printer apparatus includes a print head, a platen roller having a rod, a spring configured to press the print head toward a direction of the platen roller, a frame having in a side face thereof a platen supporting groove for supporting the rod of the platen roller, and a detection switch, wherein the platen supporting groove includes a first edge situated toward a direction of the print head and a second edge situated opposite from the first edge, and has on the second edge a projection projecting toward inside the platen supporting groove, and wherein placing the rod of the platen roller at a predetermined position at a deeper side of the platen supporting groove than the projection causes the rod of the platen roller to press the detection switch due to an urging force that is applied to the platen roller by the spring through the print head.
Thermal printer with platen lock mechanism and head urging member
A printing unit comprises: a main body frame; a platen roller removably mounted to the main body frame; a lock mechanism pivotably supported by the main body frame between a lock position at which the platen roller is rotatably held by the main body frame and an unlock position at which the platen roller is removable from the main body frame; a thermal head to be brought into pressure contact with an outer circumferential surface of the platen roller; a head support body configured to support the thermal head, the head support body being pivotably supported by the main body frame in such directions that the thermal head and the platen roller are brought closer to and away from each other; an urging member interposed between the lock mechanism and the head support body, the urging member being configured to urge the lock mechanism toward the lock position and urge the head support body in such a direction that the thermal head is brought closer to the platen roller; and a head pressing member configured to press the head support body in such a direction that the thermal head is brought closer to the platen roller.

Printing unit and printer
A printing unit comprises: a head unit; and a platen unit to be combined with the head unit. The platen unit includes: a pair of shaft support portions configured to individually support both end portions of the platen roller; and a coupling portion configured to bridge the pair of shaft support portions. The head unit includes an abutment portion provided to the head unit, which is configured to come into abutment against the coupling portion of the platen frame when the platen frame is located at the mounting position. A pressure-applying mechanism is provided between the platen frame and the subframe, which is configured to apply a pressure to the platen frame toward the abutment portion.

Media processing device with enhanced media and ribbon loading and unloading features
Provided herein is a media processing device including a printhead assembly, a frame, and a biasing element. The printhead assembly includes a printhead and a printhead bracket, where the printhead assembly extends in a longitudinal direction between a first end and a second end, and where the printhead bracket includes a biasing force receiving element. The frame may be configured to receive and support the printhead assembly, where the frame includes a first portion disposed adjacent to the first end of the printhead assembly, and a second frame portion is disposed adjacent to the second end of the printhead assembly. The biasing element may extend between the first frame portion and the second frame portion, where the biasing element may engage the biasing force receiving element of the printhead assembly.
Printing unit and thermal printer
A printing unit comprises: a platen unit including a platen roller configured to feed a recording sheet; and a head unit including a thermal head configured to perform printing on the recording sheet, the head unit being separably combined with the platen unit, the head unit including: a head frame; a cutter mechanism mounted to the head frame in a removable manner, the cutter mechanism being configured to cut the recording sheet; a support member provided between the cutter mechanism and the head frame, the support member being movable between a coupled position at which the cutter mechanism is coupled to the head frame and a decoupled position at which the cutter mechanism is detachable from the head frame; and a first urging member interposed between the thermal head and the support member, the first urging member being configured to urge the thermal head toward the platen roller, and to urge the support member toward the coupled position.
