Card-type media
A card-type medium includes: a card body; an internal component embedded in the card body; an exposed component partially exposed on a front surface of the card body; and a circuit board to which the internal component and the exposed component are bonded, wherein the circuit board includes a first connection portion to which the internal component is bonded, a second connection portion to which the exposed component is bonded, the second connection portion being located at a position different from the first connection portion in a card thickness direction connecting the front surface of the card body and a rear surface on an opposite side of the card body to the front surface, and a connection wiring portion that connects the first connection portion and the second connection portion, the connection wiring portion extending in a direction including the card thickness direction.
Methods, devices and identification document for a person or an animal
A device for producing a document carrying the identification of a person/animal. A first detector to determine the printing conditions of the document. A sensor to obtain the biometric data of the person/animal. A first encoder encodes the biometric data to form a digital identification image including redundancies. A second detector to determine physical characteristics of cells of at least one shape, such that the proportion of cells printed with a print error results from unanticipated unknowns in printing. A second encoder to form, within the shape, an authentication image for authenticating the document and includes elementary cells representing the encoded authentication image. A printer to print the authentication and identification images on the document, and to generate random errors in the printed elementary cells of the authentication image to detect modification to the appearance of the elementary cells.

Card with integrated fingerprint authentication
A card, such as a credit or identification card, including an authenticating element for authenticating the card with a service provider, a fingerprint reader integral with the card for reading a fingerprint provided by a user of the card, and a processing element for comparing the fingerprint provided by the user to a fingerprint of an owner of the card to confirm that the user is the owner. In one variation, there is also provided a means for determining whether an object presented to the fingerprint reader is a finger of the user presenting the card.

Data carrier
The present invention relates to a data carrier, especially a security document, such as an identification card, e.g. a passport or a driving license, a credit card and a bank card, the data carrier comprising authentication data comprising personalized data, and as a security feature, an array of lenticular elements being arranged to provide only from predetermined angles of view an image of at least a piece of authentication data of said authentication data. In or to make the data carrier impossible or at least very difficult to copy and forge, the array of lenticular elements is provided with a complex structure providing a further security feature.

SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE AND SYSTEM THEREOF
To provide an authentication system and a semiconductor device utilizing the system.
The semiconductor device includes a transmission/reception circuit, a control circuit, an analog-to-digital converter circuit, a memory device, and a fingerprint sensor. At least one of the control circuit, the analog-to-digital converter circuit, and the memory device includes a transistor including an oxide semiconductor in a channel formation region. The control circuit has a function of receiving an instruction signal from the outside of the semiconductor device through the transmission/reception circuit. The memory device has fingerprint data for comparison and confidential information. The control circuit has a function of comparing fingerprint data to be compared which is obtained by the fingerprint sensor and the fingerprint data for comparison. The control circuit has a function of transmitting the confidential information to the outside of the semiconductor device through the transmission/reception circuit when the fingerprint data to be compared and the fingerprint data for comparison match each other.
