AQUEOUS OXIDIZING COMPOSITION COMPRISING AMINO ACIDS
An aqueous oxidizing compositions comprising one or more amino acids and hydrogen peroxide are described. The aqueous oxidizing compositions reduce hair damage during chemical services. The effect of hair damage reduction was found to be further improved when polycarboxylic acids were added to bleaching powder, oxidative dyeing, and permanent waving compositions.
Hair treatment method
The present invention relates to a hair treatment method including the following step (i) and step (ii) in this order: Step (i): a step of applying a composition containing the following component (A) on a hair: (A) a compound represented by the following general formula (1) or a salt thereof: ##STR00001## wherein a broken line represents the presence or absence of a π bond; R.sup.1 represents a hydroxy group or an acetoxy group; R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or —COOR (R is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or an ethyl group); and R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an acetyl group, a methyl group, or an ethyl group; and Step (ii): a step of giving a shape to the hair while applying a temperature of 140° C. or higher and 220° C. or lower to the hair.

Residual soy flour sugars as crosslinkers for enhancing mechanical performance of protein fibers
Disclosed is a method of crosslinking protein fibers, including wool fibers, by (i) providing a crosslinking agent including an oxidized sugar mixture having a plurality of different oxidized sugars of different molecular lengths and having at least two aldehyde groups (e.g., oxidized soy flour sugars); and (ii) infiltrating a plurality of non-crosslinked protein fibers with the crosslinking agent under conditions effective to cause protein molecules contained in the non-crosslinked protein fibers to become crosslinked. This method yields a population of crosslinked protein fibers, where the protein molecules of the non-crosslinked protein fibers include amine groups that react with the aldehyde groups of the oxidized sugars to achieve the crosslinking of the protein molecules to yield the crosslinked protein fibers.

AQUEOUS OXIDATIVE COMPOSITION COMPRISING XANTHINE DERIVATIVES
An aqueous oxidizing composition comprising a xanthine derivative is described. The composition may comprise more than 5% by weight of hydrogen peroxide. The composition may further comprise a lipophilic compound or a surfactant, and may be applied to keratin fibers. It has been unexpectedly found out that xanthine derivatives stabilize hydrogen peroxide compositions during storage.
