A cabinet with a lock includes a cabinet in which a server is accommodated, a first locking mechanism which does not allow the server to be taken out of the cabinet with a locking manipulation, and a second locking mechanism which locks a position of the cabinet or a position of the server in coordination with a locking operation by the first locking mechanism.

Patient Transport Apparatus With Electro-Mechanical Braking System

A patient transport apparatus includes a base, a patient support deck, a plurality of wheels, a plurality of brakes, and an electro-mechanical braking system. The electro-mechanical braking system includes a linkage, a manual actuator, and an electrical braking assembly. The linkage is operatively coupled to the brakes to place the brakes in a braked state, a released state, or other state. The manual actuator moves the linkage manually to place the brakes in one of the states. The electrical braking assembly includes an actuator assembly that moves the linkage with electrical power to place the brakes in one of the states.

Exercise machine and method for use in a supine position

An exercise machine has a mobile base and an upright support extending upwards from the mobile base. An upper support assembly extends forward from an upper portion of the upright support and an exercise device is suspended from the upper support assembly at a location spaced forward from the upright support. The mobile base has caster wheels and can be positioned from either side of a bed so as to extend partially under a bed with the upright support located on one side of the bed and the exercise device suspended over the bed in a position accessible by a patient lying supine in the bed for performing exercise. An anchoring system resists movement of the base for stability when exercise is performed.

A caster locking mechanism includes a foot movable between retracted and extended positions, a lock bar movable from an unlocked to a locked position, a release bar movable from an initial to a release position, and a lock and release assembly. The lock and release assembly includes a guide plate defining a slot, a rocker coupled to the lock bar and including a protrusion slidably disposed within the slot, and a release member coupled to the release bar and including a protrusion slidably disposed within the slot. Moving the lock bar to the locked position slides the protrusion of the rocker through the slot to extend the foot. Moving the release bar to the release position urges the protrusion of the release member through the and into contact with the protrusion of the rocker to urge the protrusion of the rocker back, thereby retracting the foot.

MOTORIZED BEARING SURFACE TRANSPORTER FOR AN OPERATING TABLE SYSTEM
20180153755 · 2018-06-07 · ·

The present disclosure relates to a bearing surface transporter comprising an upper part for receiving an object to be transported, such as a patient bearing surface of an operating table, and a lower part. The lower part may comprise: at least three castors for manually moving the bearing surface transporter in any horizontal direction, at least one motorized drive wheel/roller, and a lowering mechanism for selectively lowering and raising the at least one drive wheel/roller relative to the castors, wherein the drive wheel(s)/roller(s) assume(s) an upper position for moving the bearing surface transporter manually and a lower position for moving the bearing surface transporter in a motorized manner. The lowering mechanism may have a pedal which can be actuated in an actuation direction, and the lowering mechanism may be designed such that a first actuation of the pedal in the actuation direction lowers the drive wheel(s)/roller(s) from the upper position into the lower position and that a second actuation of the pedal in the actuation direction raises the drive wheel(s)/roller(s) from the lower position into the upper position.

TWO-LAYER PHOTO-RESPONSIVE MEMBRANES

A two-layer photo-responsive membrane including a polymer layer and a support layer, the polymer layer being disposed on a surface of the support layer. The polymer layer is formed of a graft copolymer that contains a hydrophobic backbone and multiple side chains, the side chains each consisting of repeat units that switch between a hydrophobic form and a hydrophilic form upon exposure to a light of a specific wavelength. The polymer layer has a molecular weight cut-off of 3,000 to 250,000 Daltons and a thickness of 50 nm to 10 ?m; and the support layer has a molecular weight cut-off of 50 to 250,000 Daltons. Also disclosed is a method of preparing this two-layer photo-responsive membrane.

Intelligent caster system with occupancy detection and optional solar panel for use with a furniture component

The present disclosure relates to an electronic caster system for use with a furniture component. The system may have a caster with a body portion, a wheel supported for rolling movement relative to the body portion, and a neck portion. The neck portion may be adapted to be operably coupled to the furniture component to enable swiveling movement of the body portion. A processor may be provided which is supported on the caster. A sensing component may also be included which is carried on the caster for sensing a condition affecting the caster, and generating an output signal in accordance with the sensed condition to the processor.

Brake mechanism for mobile currency vaults

A brake mechanism for mobile currency vaults includes a braking gear coupled to a vault wheel to govern rotational movement of the wheel. An interference tab is biased to an interference fit between the gear's teeth to stop rotation of the wheel. Disengaging the gear is controlled near the handles of the vault, which also provide steering control, so that users must actively disengage the interference tab to allow the wheel to rotate. The brake mechanism also has a brake release for locking in a disengaged or engaged position. The brake release spans the mobile currency vault from a front wheel to a rear handle. The brake release also has a control, preferably at a rear end of the vault, requiring activation by a key and an indicator pusher.
