Provided herein are compositions and method for treating and preventing skin damage In particular, provided herein re compositions that reverse, prevent and/or slow age-related skin damage.

The present invention relates to a composition comprising plant extracts. The composition according to the present invention has a skin whitening effect by reducing the total amount of melanin and tyrosinase activity in melanocytes of the skin, promotes skin regeneration and increases skin elasticity or reduces skin wrinkles by promoting collagen synthesis and inhibiting collagenase activity in fibroblasts of the skin, has an anti-inflammatory effect or a skin soothing effect by inhibiting NO generation, increases the amount of moisture in the skin and has a moisturizing effect by promoting generation of hyaluronic acid in fibroblasts, and has an antioxidant effect by scavenging free radicals. In addition, since the composition of the present invention exhibits a broad antibacterial effect against various bacteria, the composition may be used as a cosmetic composition, a pharmaceutical composition, a skin external preparation, or a food composition.

Disclosed is a composition including controlled release particles, wherein each of the controlled release particles includes: (a) a core including at least one hydrophobic active ingredient; and (b) a wall at least partially surrounding the core and including the reaction products of: (i) an organofunctional silane; (ii) an epoxy; (iii) an amine; (iv) an isocyanate; (v) an epoxide curing agent; wherein the controlled release particles are effective to retain the at least one hydrophobic active ingredient upon exposure to water and effective to release the at least one hydrophobic active ingredient in response to friction. A method for preparing the composition is also disclosed.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for preventing or improving aging that comprises a culture of one or more lactic acid bacteria selected from a group consisting of Lactobacillus plantarum Wikim 125 (Access No. BP1910798) isolated from Kimchi and Lactobacillus plantarum Wikim 126 (Access No. BP1910799) and the Lactobacillus plantarum Wikim 127 (Access No. BP1910800) that are isolated from Sauerkraut and may further comprise a dead cell of one or more lactic acid bacteria selected from the group. The cosmetic composition for preventing or improving aging of the present invention can promote skin aging improvement effects through antioxidation, inflammation relief, moisturizing enhancement, skin tone improvement, elasticity and wrinkle improvement, by using natural derived lactic acid bacteria that are skin-friendly, safe, and capable of improving skin functions and cultures using these lactic acid bacteria.

The present specification relates to a composition for external application to skin with improved solubility and feeling during use, comprising a benzoic acid amide compound, an isomer thereof, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a hydrate thereof or a solute that is a solvate thereof, and a first cyclodextrin solubilizing agent.

A skin conditioning composition includes a carrier system having a water phase, the water phase including urea or a derivative thereof, present in an amount from about 20% to about 40%, by weight, based on the weight of the composition; at least one amino acid; at least one of triacetin or triethyl citrate; and, optionally, a buffer system having a pH in a range from about 4.0 to about 6.0, wherein the pH of the skin conditioning composition is less than about 7. The skin conditioning composition according carrier system may also include one more additional ingredients, each present in the water phase or in a second phase.

Compositions, kits, and methods for repairing bonds, for example, disulfide bonds, in hair or on the skin are disclosed. The compositions provide improved conditioning benefit for dry hair or moisturize the skin. The compositions also provide a long lasting moisturized feel and smooth feel to the skin or hair, without feeling greasy. The compositions contain one or more compounds that covalently bind at least two thiol groups in the hair or on the skin. Use of the binding compositions prevents reversion of the repaired bonds to their free thiol state, for at least one week or one month, or more, after a single application of the composition. Provided is a polyurethane gel composition containing A and B below. Here, A represents a polyurethane obtained by reaction of (a) a hydrogenated polybutadiene having isocyanate groups at the terminals and (b) a glycol represented by HO—R.sub.3—OH (wherein R.sub.3 represents a linear or branched C2 to C6 alkylene group optionally having an ether bond), or A represents a polyurethane obtained by reaction of (c) a hydrogenated polybutadiene having hydroxyl groups at the terminals, (d) a diisocyanate compound, and the (b) glycol represented by HO—R.sub.3—OH (wherein R.sub.3 represents a linear or branched C2 to C6 alkylene group optionally having an ether bond), and B represents an oil agent. The polyurethane gel composition of the present invention is particularly useful as a raw material for cosmetics since a film of an oil-soluble gel obtained using the polyurethane gel composition is exceptionally excellent in any point of transparency, high gloss, elasticity, and resilience.

The present invention relates generally to methods and compositions useful to cleanse, exfoliate, smooth, moisturize, hydrate, and/or improve the appearance and/or condition of skin and/or hair using a composition including shea butter, PEG-50 shea butter, and/or hydrated silica.
