Automotive ding and dents protection system
A device for protecting the automobile doors from scratches and dents to the finishes made by other cars or objects while the automobile is parked on a parking lot or other spaces. The device has an impact absorbing material attach to one side of and structural bar while a part of the door outside panel is attached to the other side of the structural bar. The structural bar and the absorbing material are stow inside the door frame. The structural bar is connected through a series of bearings and shafts to an electric motor that rotates the structural bar and exposes the impact material to provide the door protection. The motor is controlled by a solenoid valve.
Motor Vehicle
A motor vehicle has a mounting device for a smartphone provided on a door panel. A housing of a receiving device of the mounting device is simultaneously used as the door handle, and the housing of the receiving device has operating elements for locking and unlocking a door lock and/or operating elements for locking and unlocking a door brake of a side door.
Optional actuatoric door opening support for a vehicle
A vehicle door arrangement includes a first closing element arranged on a vehicle door and a second closing element arranged on a bodywork of the vehicle. The first and closing elements can be connected to each other in a positive looking manner to hold the door on the bodywork. A door handle is connected to a sensor for detecting a pressure input or a pulling input of a user on the door handle. The sensor is connected to a control unit, which controls a locking actuator and a door opening actuator. The locking actuator separates the first and second closing elements, and the door opening actuator opens the vehicle door relative to the bodywork. The control unit controls the locking actuator to separate the first closing element and the second closing element in response to a detected pressure input or pulling input, and to control the door opening actuator to open the door relative to the bodywork.
Vehicle door control system
In an aspect, a vehicle door control system for a vehicle having a vehicle body and a vehicle door is provided, and includes a check arm having an end that is mounted to one of the vehicle body and the vehicle door, a check arm holder at least a portion of which is mounted to the other of the vehicle body and the vehicle door, and a controller. The check arm holder is configured to apply at least three different amounts of braking force to the check arm. The controller is programmed to control the operation of the check arm holder based on input from at least one sensor.
Pressure Relief Valve Linked for Movement with Side Door Glass
A system according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a door having interior and exterior sides, at least one inlet in the interior side, at least one outlet in the exterior side, and a window mechanism to move a window relative to the door. At least one pressure relief valve is in communication with the inlet and outlet, and is mechanically linked for movement with the window. A method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, mechanically linking at least one pressure relief valve for movement with the window such that the pressure relief valve opens in response to the window beginning to open.
Door protection device and method
A door protection device has a number of stay tabs attached along an edge of a protective layer or pad. Each of the stay tabs has a sharped end or wedge shaped end that is inserted between the window and the weather stripping. Each of the stay tabs also has one or more ribs that face away from the window when inserted. At one end of the protective pad a suction cup is attached. The protective layer may be a heavy fabric or a pad that may include a silicone rubber layer or an ethylene-vinyl acetate layer or a foamed plastic layer.
Method for lowering a window pane of a vehicle door, and vehicle which is designed for carrying out the method
A vehicle and method for lowering a window pane of a door of a vehicle to make it easier for the vehicle occupant to enter and exit the vehicle. The door has a door unlocking apparatus and a drive device for lowering and raising the window pane. The vehicle has an unlocking sensor, which registers the operation or the imminent operation of the door unlocking apparatus and converts the operation or imminent operation into corresponding unlocking signals, and a control unit, which receives the unlocking signals and converts the signals into operating signals for triggering the drive device. The method checks whether the door unlocking apparatus is operated or operation is imminent and, if the door unlocking apparatus is operated or operation is imminent, triggers the drive device with the control unit to lower the window pane to a position which is easier for the vehicle occupant to enter and exit the vehicle.
Apparatus for preventing door of vehicle from opening during collision
An apparatus for preventing a door of a vehicle from opening during a collision is provided. The door includes a cable that is connected to an exterior door handle and a connection bushing that is connected to the cable and coupled to an operating lever. When the exterior door handle is manipulated, the operating lever is moved upward to release a door latch. Additionally, an opening prevention unit is configured to allow the connection bushing to move upward under normal conditions, and when a vehicle collision occurs, the opening prevention unit is displaced from an original position to block upward movement of the connection bushing and prevent the door from opening.
Air curtain using smart materials
An apparatus provides an air shield over a portal access opening between a vehicle access member and a stationary vehicle trim member. An air supply device disposed within the vehicle. The air supply device includes an active material creating the burst of air. The air supply device produces a burst of air that discharges upon opening of the vehicle access member. At least one output port outputs the burst of air. The burst of air forms the air shield in a direction substantially transverse to the portal opening. The air shield is formed across at least a portion of a perimeter of the portal access opening between the vehicle access member and the stationary vehicle trim member. The air shield inhibits precipitation from entering the compartment of the vehicle during a pressure equalization phase that occurs in response to the opening of the vehicle access member.
VEHICLE FURNITURE SYSTEM
A vehicle furniture system having an article of furniture and a carriage configured to carry the article of furniture between first and second positions within a body portion of a vehicle when the carriage is coupled to the body portion of the vehicle, the vehicle furniture system comprising a first actuator configured to deploy the article of furniture from the carriage when the carriage is in at least one of the first and second positions.
