Gaze detection of occupants for vehicle displays
Method and apparatus are disclosed for gaze detection of occupants for vehicle displays. An example vehicle includes a panoramic display including polarized displays. The example vehicle also includes a controller to identify a primary operator interface and a primary passenger interface and detect, via one or more cameras, an operator gaze and a passenger gaze. The controller also is to present the primary operator interface to an operator via one of the polarized displays corresponding with the operator gaze and present the primary passenger interface to a passenger via one of the polarized displays corresponding with the passenger gaze.
Vehicle smart mirror system with heads-up display
In one embodiment, a vehicle mirror includes a heads-up display (HUD) projector, an on-board diagnostics (OBD) transceiver, and one or more processors. The processors access OBD data received by the OBD transceiver from an OBD port of a vehicle. The processors further determine an identification of the vehicle from the accessed OBD data and determine one or more calibration parameters for the HUD projector based on the determined identification of the vehicle. The one or more calibration parameters are operable to position a displayed image from the HUD projector onto a HUD reflector within a line-of-sight of a driver of the vehicle. The processors further send one or more instructions based on the one or more calibration parameters to the HUD projector.
Interface system for vehicle
A user interface system for a vehicle includes: at least one display unit provided in the vehicle; a detachable interface apparatus configured to be detachably attached to any one of the at least one display unit provided in the vehicle; at least one processor; and a computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations that include: in a state in which the detachable interface apparatus is attached to a selected display unit among the at least one display unit of the vehicle, determining a first user menu corresponding to the selected display unit; and displaying, on the selected display unit or on the detachable interface apparatus, the first user menu corresponding to the selected display unit.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAVING A DEFORMABLE DISPLAY
Vehicle information is displayed on a deformable display of an instrument cluster for a motor vehicle. The instrument cluster includes the deformable display, a support structure, at least one sensor element, and at least one movement element. The deformable display is arranged on the support structure and the support structure is movable from a first position into a second position by using the at least one movement element, based on environmental influences detected by the sensor element.
CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD
A control device includes: a recognition unit that recognizes predetermined behavior of a user; an estimation unit that estimates a situation of the user on the basis of the predetermined behavior that is recognized by the recognition unit; an evaluation unit that evaluates certainty of an estimation result from the estimation unit; and an output unit that outputs to the control unit, an operation instruction in accordance with the certainty.
Method and apparatus for controlling head-up display based on eye tracking status
A method and apparatus for controlling a head-up display (HUD) considering an eye tracking status are provided. The method includes identifying an eye tracking status based on a result of an eye tracking, and identifying a rendering mode for an HUD image to be one of a two-dimensional (2D) rendering mode and a three-dimensional (3D) rendering mode based on the eye tracking status.
INFORMATION DISPLAY APPARATUS AND SPATIAL SENSING APPARATUS
An information display apparatus and a spatial sensing apparatus for the information display apparatus are provided, the information display apparatus enabling the selection/change of the lot of display images in small point-of-view motion so that an interactive function for a driver is achieved. An information display apparatus displaying information onto a vehicle includes: an information display apparatus displaying image information onto an image display region on a forward part of a driver seat of the vehicle; and a spatial sensing means detecting positional information of instruction made by a driver in a spatial region between the driver seat and the displayed image display region, and the information display apparatus includes a means displaying the instruction made by the driver onto the image display region on the forward part in response to the positional information of the instruction made by the driver, detected by the spatial sensing means.
Vehicle abnormality handling support device
An abnormality handling support device includes: a touch panel display that is able to display an image; and a driving support ECU configured to determine whether a display condition including that an abnormal condition indicating that a driver has difficulty driving a vehicle while the vehicle is traveling is satisfied is satisfied, and to cause the touch panel display to display a support image that is registered beforehand when the driving support ECU determines that the display condition is satisfied.
System and method to identify a location of an occupant in a vehicle
The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for identifying a location of an occupant in a vehicle. In an example method, a processor deconvolves a vocal utterance by an occupant of a vehicle and also determines an angle of arrival of the vocal utterance. The location of the occupant in the vehicle is then identified by the processor based on evaluating the deconvolved vocal utterance and the angle of arrival of the vocal utterance. Deconvolving the vocal utterance can involve applying a cabin impulse response to the vocal utterance for eliminating undesirable effects that may be imposed upon the vocal utterance by acoustic characteristics of the cabin of the vehicle (echo, sound reflections, sound damping, reverberation etc.). In some applications, the processor may refer to a lookup table to estimate a location of the occupant in the vehicle.
DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
Given that an intersection point of a straight line, which connects a relatively moving body and an eyeball reference position of a driver of a vehicle, and a virtual surface, which includes a virtual display region and is wider than the virtual display region, is defined as a first intersection point, and an intersection point between the virtual display region and a straight line, which connects the eyeball reference position and an AR image, is defined as a second intersection point, a position of the second intersection point is controlled such that a second distance, which is a distance between the first intersection point and the second intersection point, is longer when a first distance, which is a distance between the relatively moving body and the vehicle, is longer than a predetermined value, than when the first distance is the predetermined value.
