Automated loading and unloading items

Computer program products, methods, systems, apparatus, and computing entities are provided for automated loading and retrieval of items. In various embodiments, items are received at a loading station where identification data may be captured for each item and handling instructions may be generated. In some embodiments, a label having indicia associated with the item may be generated and affixed to the item. The items may then be deposited through an access door into the vehicle identified in the handling instructions. Once the items are loaded into the access door, an automated load/unload device may deposit the item in the appropriate storage location. The automated load/unload device may also retrieve and rearrange items as desired.

A first end of a lifting arm is pivotably connected to a first end of the movable base member, and the lifting arm is pivotable mounted with respect to the movable base member by a second drive to facilitate pivoting movement of the lifting arm relative to the movable base member. A first end of a support arm is pivotably connected to a second end of the lifting arm, and the support arm is pivotably mounted with respect to the lifting arm to facilitate loading and unloading of the delivery vehicle.

The battery container further comprises a temperature control element disposed within the enclosure, wherein the temperature control element reduces the rate of heat transfer between the ambient and the interior of the enclosure. The temperature control element comprises an active temperature control element. The battery container further comprises a controller that in response to a signal indicating battery temperature, controls the active temperature control element for reducing the rate of heat transfer between the ambient and the interior of the enclosure.

Lift gate and mounting system

A mounting system for mounting a lift gate on a structure is provided, the lift gate having a lift platform supported between a pair of spaced support columns. The mounting system comprises a first mounting member configured for attachment onto said structure, wherein the first mounting member includes a support protrusion for engaging an opening in a wall of a corresponding lift gate support column. The mounting system further comprises a second mounting member configured for attachment onto said structure, wherein the second mounting member includes a support protrusion for engaging an opening in a wall of a corresponding lift gate support column. When the mounting members are attached to the structure and the corresponding lift gate support columns are mounted on the support protrusions, the mounting members support the lift gate on the structure.

The lift platform is substantially aligned with an extension plate when the lift platform is in the raised position. The stop members are positioned relative to the lift platform to provide a gap between the extension plate and the lift platform when the lift platform is in the raised position.
