Carrier bar and carrier bar assembly structure

A carrier bar is provided, capable of enabling suitable assembly work of the stay and improving freedom in adjustment of stay assembly position relative to carrier bar, disclosed is a carrier bar having shell formed along longitudinal direction and hollow zones in cross-sectional structure so as to be assembled to stay by using a clamp mechanism having a head and a constricted portion to form a base carrier. Shell has assembly and positioning openings extending toward the longitudinal end of shell by using assembly opening as a basal end and having a terminated end formed by longitudinal end of shell. Assembly opening has an opening width and an opening length into which the head of clamp mechanism is insertable. Positioning opening has an opening width narrower than that of assembly opening, along which the constricted portion is slidable, and an opening length longer than that of assembly opening.

CROSSBAR CLAMP ACTUATOR

A crossbar clamp actuator of a crossbar-to-vehicle coupler may include a horizontally traveling wedge block having a ramped, downward-facing first slide surface, and a wedge follower having a second slide surface in frictional contact with the first slide surface of the traveling wedge block. Substantially horizontal repositioning of the traveling wedge block may cause the ramped first slide surface to urge the wedge follower downward, thereby actuating a crossbar clamp.

A ladder rack with improved utility may feature a rugged single body construction with multiple bends forming a pocket between two arms. The ladder rack is mountable upon a surface, such as a vehicle roof, and contains a portion of a ladder within it. The ladder is secured transversely within the pocket as the opening is smaller than the width of a ladder rail and the use of two ladder racks, since one arm projects around a ladder rail, will secure against translational movement along the car's length if positioned to abut ladder rungs. An optional S-bend can be utilized to further control of the ladder in stowage and in securing against movement in transit.

Clamping Rack

A clamping rack for securing an item to an object includes an elongated base member having two ends that each have a rear support surface projecting upwardly therefrom. At least one bottom support projects upwardly from the base member and has a bottom support surface oriented orthogonal to the rear support surfaces. Two pivot members each have an item engagement end with an upwardly projecting front support surface, and a tensioner engagement end, a tensioner fixed between each tensioner engagement ends to urge the tensioner engagement ends mutually closer. A handle member is fixed between the engagement ends and is pulled forward to pivot the front support surfaces away from the rear support surface to make room for the item to be placed therebetween. The item is clamped between the rear and front support surfaces when the handle member is released due to the resiliency of the tensioner.
