VEHICULAR DOOR SUPPRESSION APPARATUS
20170106732 · 2017-04-20 ·

A suppression assembly designed to suppress blunt impacts is provided. The suppression assembly includes a sheet of magnetic material having a thin profile defined by two opposing attachment surfaces, wherein the sheet of magnetic material is adapted to disperse blunt energy impact so that when place along a vehicular door, the suppression apparatus protects the parked vehicular door against collisions from neighboring automobile's doors.

Vehicle lower portion structure

A vehicle lower portion structure has: an undercover that is fixed to a lower portion of a vehicle body, and that covers a bottom surface side of the vehicle body; rockers that extend in a vehicle longitudinal direction at both sides in a vehicle transverse direction at the lower portion of the vehicle body; and rocker moldings that are fixed to the lower portion of the vehicle body, and are disposed at vehicle transverse direction outer sides of the undercover, and are provided from vehicle transverse direction outer sides of the rockers to vehicle lower sides. End portions at the vehicle transverse direction outer sides of the undercover, and end portions at vehicle transverse direction inner sides of the rocker moldings, are superposed one on another at least in a vehicle vertical direction.

A door outbelt unit for a vehicle door includes an end piece clip forming a U-shaped clip pocket, an end piece forming a pocket boss inserted into a clip pocket, and a door outbelt forming an internal space inserted and enclosed with an end piece to expose the pocket boss to the outside, in which the door outbelt is assembled only by a process of pressing the end piece in an H direction (vertical direction) after an end piece clip is assembled in an L direction (horizontal direction), so as to prevent lifting of the door outbelt or damage of parts during assembly.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR VEHICLE DOOR COLLISION AVOIDANCE
20170089114 · 2017-03-30 ·

Technologies for reducing vehicle door collisions include an in-vehicle compute device configured to determine a proximity between a door of a vehicle and a structure while the door is being opened and activate a door collision avoidance system of the vehicle to slow or restrict the opening of the door in response to a determination that the proximity of the door to the structure is within a proximity threshold. The door collision avoidance system may include one or more electro-magnets, one or more actuators, and/or one or more electro-active polymer devices. The in-vehicle compute device may also control the operation of the door based on a context of the vehicle.

Swing door having an impact protection device

A swing door is provided that includes a frame, a door leaf with a door leaf edge, and an impact protection device. The impact protection device has a push rod, a lever, and first and second biasing arrangements. The impact protection device is mounted on an end face of the door leaf and is configured to pivot in an opening direction of the swing door and in a direction opposite to the opening direction. The lever is arranged in a gap between the front side and the frame as the swing door is closed. The lever has an outer lever arm protruding from the front side to protect the door leaf edge from an impact as said swing door is opened.

A device for attachment to the sides of a vehicle to protect against dents when parked next to other vehicles includes an elongated tubular foam member having a hollow axial passage extending therethrough between opposite open ends. A rubber cord, string or cable extends through the axial passage and attaches to suction cups beyond the opposite open ends of the tubular foam member. The suction cups releasably secure the device to the vehicle exterior so that the tubular foam member is held and positioned generally horizontally along the side door(s) of the vehicle.

Vehicle exterior structure

A decorating part is provided near a boundary between a front fender panel and a front door panel. For example, the decorating part is provided at a front end in a vehicle longitudinal direction of the front door panel. The decorating part is a member extending in a vehicle vertical direction. For example, the decorating part has a color darker than the color of the front fender panel and the front door panel.
