VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM
20180244241 · 2018-08-30 ·

A vehicle security system for monitoring a vehicle and notifying a user includes at least two image capture devices (ICD), sensors, a global positioning system tracking module (GPSTM), a control module (CM), and a monitoring device. The ICD are positioned at predetermined locations of the vehicle for capturing and transmitting images of a target object. The sensors generate sensor data variables based on a detection of the target object. The GPSTM generates and transmits signals based on a position of the vehicle to a monitoring device. The CM receives the captured images and sensor data variables. The CM analyzes the received images and sensor data variables based on predefined criteria to trigger auxiliary units. The CM transmits the images and sensor data variables based on the predefined criteria to the monitoring device. A graphical user interface displays the images for monitoring the vehicle and notifies the user.

Access-Protected Control of an Actuator of an Electric Parking Brake

An actuator for an electric parking brake, EPB, is described. The actuator comprises a motor configured to actuate an actuating member of the EPB, as well as a reception interface configured to receive an enablement code. An enablement code is assigned to the EPB actuator which individualizes the EPB actuator against other EPB actuators. The actuator further comprises an evaluation unit configured to verify the received enablement code on the basis of the enablement code allocated to the EPB actuator and to enable a control of the motor in case of a positively verified enablement code. There is further provided a control device for the EPB actuator, an electric parking brake and a vehicle having the EPB actuator and corresponding operating methods.

A rail car hand brake locking system utilizes a connection member and a securing body. The connection member has an aperture near each distal end. The securing body has a head end capable of securing around a portion of an actuating wheel of the hand brake and a connection end capable of securing to the connection member, which is then affixed to the hand brake housing. The system prevents unauthorized usage of the hand brake.

Control of a parking brake

A method is disclosed for operating a parking brake by a driver of a vehicle, wherein the parking brake is operated by a switching key, which is designed for taking up at least two and, in particular, three states. The method detects the state of the switching key; codes the detected state; generates a check word for the coded state by use of a cyclic redundancy check; creates a message suitable for the transmission by way of a single-wire channel, the message including the coded state and the check word; and sends the message by way of the single-wire channel.
